The next day, Himari was walking to the gym when she ran into Daichi who was also heading that way.
"Oh, hey, Daichi."
The captain smiled at her and waved. The two then headed towards the gym where they saw a certain third year watching Hinata and Kageyama practice.
"We've got ourselves a practice game on the last day of camp." Daichi said when they finally arrived.
Asahi slowly turned around and yelped. He ran away from the two while Himari laughed and Daichi yelled after the ace,
"What's your problem?!"
"I'm getting out of here! You scare me when you get mad!"
"Well, it's not like I'm mad all the time!"
Himari continued to watch the reunion awkwardly before going into the gym. She set her bag down and watched Kageyama and Hinata practice their quick attack.
"Wow, it's getting more stable." Himari commented.
The two boys looked proud and walked over to her.
"Kageyama, did you finish your lunch?"
Kageyama nodded quickly and went to his bag to find the bento box. Himari smiled when she opened it and found it empty.
"I have so much more energy!" Kageyama exclaimed.
Himari laughed before handing him a piece of paper.
"I made you a meal plan, in case you want to follow it on your own."
Kageyama shouted a quick 'thank you' before running to put it away. Hinata huffed and looked at Himari.
"You want one too?" Himari asked. Hinata nodded rapidly.
"Yes please!"
"I'll give it to you on the first day of the training camp, 'kay?" Himari said and typed a reminder on her phone.
"Thank you!"
Himari nodded, "Start warming up and then practice your receives. You can practice that quick attack later, but your receives still suck."
Hinata nodded and ran to tell Kageyama. Soon, more members showed up and greeted the first years.
"What are we working on today?" Suga asked the brunette.
"Receiving. Most of you guys are able to receive pretty decently, but we can't rely on Nishinoya and Daichi all the time. We need a solid defense, and that starts with receiving. We can work on blocking later."
Suga nodded, "That's true. Receiving takes a lot of work to perfect. Blocking does too, but that's easier to teach."
Himari got up and gestured for Suga to follow her. The two of them went to where Tsukishima was practicing and waited for him to receive a ball. When he did, the ball flew to the side.
"Tsukishima, come here."
The tall blond did so with a confused and irritated look on his face. Himari asked him to put his arms in a receiving position.
"Suga, can you push his arms down?"
Suga nodded and when he did, Tsukishima's arms were easily pushed down. Himari then called over Nishinoya and had him do the same thing. When Suga pushed his arms, they barely moved.
"Tsukishima, your arms are like limp noodles. Your arms need to be firm and you need to relax, if you don't, then you could get seriously hurt, especially with spikers like Ushiwaka."
Tsukishima silently nodded and walked back to where he was.
"Wow, you're really good at this coach thing." Nishinoya said with a bright smile.
"Yeah, you've really helped us so far."
Himari smiled at them, "Yeah, I can help them get the basics down since I teach kids how to play. Speaking of, I need to call Tooru and make sure he got everything for Saturday. I also need to make sure Tetsu brings my glasses. You two should get back to practice."
The two boys nodded and ran back onto the court. Himari typed the reminders in her phone when the gym doors opened revealing Takeda and some blond man.
"Uh, excuse me!" Takeda shouted.
"Alright, gather around guys."
The blond man stepped forward and stood next to Takeda, "This is Ukai, as of today he'll be your coach."
Himari narrowed her eyes at the man as everyone went silent.
"Woah, we have a new coach?" Daichi asked.
Ukai looked at the captain and nodded slightly, "Just until after the Nekoma game."
"Wait a second, isn't that the grumpy guy who runs the Sakanoshita store? He's coaching us?"
Himari snapped her fingers and pointed at Tanaka, "That's where I've seen him. He was drooling on the counter by the register, so a nice old lady helped me!"
Ukai turned to the brunette with a scowl while she laughed at the memory, but stopped when she heard everyone gasp.
"What? What happened?"
"He's the old Coach Ukai's grandson." Hinata whispered.
Himari gave him a confused look before turning her attention to the new coach. He told everyone that he had set up a game and everyone went back to practice.
"Practice your receives and passing." Himari said and went back to the bench.
They nodded and quickly paired up to begin practicing. Ukai looked at the girl through narrowed eyes.
"Hey, you look familiar."
"Well, I do go to your store so it might be that." Himari replied a little nervously.
"No, it's something else. What's your name?"
"Uh, Himari Nakamura." She replied as she picked up a ball that rolled to her.
Ukai thought for a moment before his eyes widened.
"You're Daisuke Nakamura's daughter, aren't you?"
"Good job detective, you solved it."
Ukai stood in shocked silence and watched the girl walk towards the players and help them.
"Tadashi, don't watch the other players for too long, watch the ball."
The freckled boy nodded and went to go get the ball that had rolled away. A man with glasses walked in and handed the ball back to Tadashi.
"Is that the neighborhood association?" Himari asked.
Ukai smirked and nodded, but it was completely wiped away by Himari's next sentence,
"I thought they would be a bunch of old guys, like you."
Ukai whipped his head to look at the brunette who was already walking away and laughing.
Kiyoko sighed and followed the girl to help her get the scoreboard out for the game."Hey, it's Asahi! Asahi, hey!" Hinata yelled.
"Why do people always show up fashionably late?" Himari asked as she and Kiyoko set up everything for the game.
"Mari, you're late most of the time."
Himari gasped, "Nuh-uh! I'm, like, always early, but everyone else is just earlier than me."
Once the court was ready, Tadashi stood next to her as everyone got to their positions to start the game.
"Okay, start!"
And the game had begun.
