The next day Himari still had a small fever, so she was forced by Kuroo to stay in bed. She tried to go to the gym, but Kuroo dragged her back.
"I'm practically being held hostage." Himari mumbled.
For a couple of hours, Himari played on her phone until it died before she got up and decided to make an escape. When she opened the door, she came face to face with Kenma who had his hand raised to knock on the door.
"Oh, hi Kenma. I was just making sure the door was working, you know?" Himari said.
Kenma gave her a knowing smile before gesturing to walk in the room. Himari moved and he entered with a bag of snacks.
"I brought you snacks since Kuroo decided to keep you in here."
Himari smiled as she looked through the bag that contained her favorite snacks. Kenma smiled at her before pulling out his phone.
"Do you want to play this game with me? Kuroo confiscated my PSP, so I only have my phone."
Himari nodded and he turned his phone towards her. The two took turns playing the game to see who could set the high score. Obviously, Kenma won.
After a while Himari stood up and went to belongings. Kenma looked at her curiously and watched as she pulled out a purple box. When she sat back down, Kenma gave her a confused look.
"You wanted to make a bracelet, right? I brought everything that we need."
Kenma smiled and scooted closer to Himari as she opened the box. Inside were a multitude of different colored beads and charms to choose from.
"What colors should we do?"
Kenma looked at the colors thoughtfully before pointing at the purple and blue.
"Your favorite color and my favorite color!" Himari exclaimed as she took the string out of the box.
She wrapped the string around her wrist before cutting it the correct length. She did the same with Kenma and gave him the cut string.
The two began stringing the beads, alternating between the two colors. Once they had enough of the colored beads, Himari tied the bracelets off and took out the charms.
"You choose mine and I'll choose yours." Himari told Kenma. He nodded and looked through the charms before picking one up.
"Okay, I got yours." Kenma told her.
Himari nodded and they both revealed the charms. Kenma had chosen a tiara charm for her and Himari chose a cat charm for him.
"Thanks!" Himari exclaimed and attached the charm to her bracelet. She looked over at Kenma and saw that he was struggling.
"Do you need help?"
Kenma muttered a 'no', and continued to struggle causing Himari to laugh and take the bracelet and charm from his hand. He sighed and picked up Himari's bracelet, fiddling with it while she put the charm on his bracelet. When she was done, she took Kenma's left hand and slid the bracelet around his wrist.
"There!" She said before looking around for hers. Kenma smiled before taking her left hand and doing the same thing.
"There."
Himari beamed and happily looked at her wrist that contained her new bracelet.
"I love it!"
Kenma nodded and smiled at his own bracelet. The two of them were in their own little world, not noticing the team of cats and crows that were watching them.
"Those two really are best friends, huh?" Suga asked, earning a nod from the Nekoma captain.
"Kenma's finally coming out of his shell." Yaku whispered, slightly sniffling.
"Not really, he's always been like this with Mari." Kuroo responded before going back to watching the two with a soft smile.
I'm glad they're in my life.
