Himari was walking to school alone on Monday since Kiyoko decided to leave early to get some work done before classes started for the day. As she was walking, she spotted Hinata up ahead.
"Hinata!"
The short middle blocker turned around waved, stopping so she could catch up. Once she was by his side the two began walking.
"Mari, good morning!"
"Morning, Hinata! You ready for practice?"
Hinata nodded as he stuffed a sandwich in his mouth. Himari laughed and her eyes trailed down to the bracelet on his wrist.
"Do you want me to turn your bracelet into a keychain? I know you can't always wear it because you're playing most of the time."
Hinata looked at his bracelet and nodded, "Yes please! I want to be able to keep it with me and not lose it while I play."
He took off the bracelet and put it in Himari's hand. The two silently walked until one of Hinata's classmates walked up to them.
"Hey Hinata! Morning practice?"
Hinata nodded, "Hey! And yeah, I'm heading there now with Mari."
The boy looked at Himari and smiled. She returned the gesture before looking straight ahead. The two boys talked while Himari enjoyed the walk. The three of them eventually stopped when they saw a banner congratulating the volleyball team on making it to nationals.
"I guess this is really happening."
Hinata and Himari smiled when someone called Hinata's name. They looked up and saw Kiyoko standing there.
"Hinata, I forgot to mention this earlier, but we're taking measurements for the brochures today, so come see us once school is out. Tell the other first years too, thanks!"
"Sure!"
Kageyama had joined the group and immediately challenged Hinata. Himari shook her head and Hinata's friend looked at them confused.
"Do they really work together on the court?"
"Yeah, but they also fight. They're weird."
He nodded and left to go to classes a little while later. Himari looked at the two that were still fighting before deciding to pull their ears to make them stop.
"Ow!"
"Stop fighting. I have your meal plans for the month."
The two boys immediately stopped complaining and stood up straight when she let go. She reached into her backpack and pulled out some papers before immediately stuffing them back in her backpack. After a while, she pulled out two sheets of papers.
"Here. Now stop fighting and go to class."
"Okay!"
Himari watched as they left when she suddenly felt an arm wrapped around her shoulders. She looked over and saw a girl from her class smiling at her.
"Uh, hi?"
"Mari, right?"
"Only my friends call me that."
The girl chuckled and raised her hands up in mock defense, "Right, sorry. I was just wondering about that third year on your team. Sugawara I think."
Himari groaned internally. She had been trying to avoid something like this the whole year.
"Uh, what about him?"
"Is he single?"
Himari looked around for an escape, but she couldn't find any, so she turned back to the girl with a smile,
