After Hinata scored a point, it was his turn to serve. However, Ukai and Himari decided to sub in Tadashi.
"You got this. Just like we practiced." Himari said as she pushed him forward.
He nodded and stood with confidence, unlike before when he was nervous and shaking. Himari was smiling wide as Tadashi walked onto the court, but it was quickly wiped off when she heard a couple of people talking about how Tadashi screwed up earlier. She turned and glared at them to which they immediately shut up.
The benched players did their cheer for Tadashi and he took a deep breath, waiting for the whistle to blow. Once the whistle sounded, Tadashi took another deep breath before tossing the ball up and doing a jump float.
Everyone watched and it looked like it was going out, so Seijoh dodged it, but it hit the line. Himari stood up and whistled loudly as everyone cheered.
"One more time!" Himari yelled.
Everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting and watching Tadashi, but he was calm. Himari was practically jumping when he got another point.
Tadashi did another serve, but Makki received it. Fortunately, Kageyama was able to receive Seijoh's spike and Tsukishima was able to spike it over the net.
Just when Tadashi was going to serve again, Seijoh called for a timeout. When the players got back to the bench, Himari practically jumped at Tadashi.
"You were so cool! I knew you could do it!"
"Thank you!" He responded and took the water bottle from her hand.
On Seijoh's side, the players were glaring at Karasuno. They had underestimated the players, but they were starting to understand what Himari meant when she said they had new weapons.
"Mari wasn't lying when she said they had new weapons." Iwaizumi said as he drank water.
Oikawa shrugged, "That may be true, but we're still better."
Iwaizumi shook his head, "Yeah, but she told me about how they trained, and I've got to say, I am a little jealous."
That sentence piqued his teammates' curiosity and they looked at him expectantly. He wiped the sweat from his face before answering.
"They went to Tokyo and practiced with teams who have already gone to nationals, like Fukurodani and Nekoma."
The players suddenly felt the air shift as they looked at Karasuno. They were more determined than ever to beat them.
The whistle blew, indicating that the players should go back onto the court. Once everyone was in their position, Tadashi was ready to serve again.
When he served, he hit the net, causing the ball to fall on Seijoh's side close to the net. He got Karasuno another and they were tied with Seijoh.
The next play, Karasuno pulled ahead and they were at match point. When Tadashi served next, it was received and Iwaizumi scored Seijoh a point causing a tie.
After that, the two teams continued going back and forth. They kept getting to match point which made the set drag on longer. Unfortunately, Oikawa was serving and he got his team to set point.
On the next one, Daichi was able to dig up Oikawa's serve, but Iwaizumi ended up spiking the ball and Seijoh won the set.
Once the players made it back to the bench, Himari stood up with a smile, "Don't worry guys, I thought this might happen. Just relax, you guys have practiced hard and you will win."
"Right!"
Himari then unzipped a cooler and took out some bentos with honeyed lemon slices and onigiri. The Karasuno players immediately dug in. From the other side of the court, Seijoh looked at the Karasuno players with jealousy. Himari spotted them and so did the Karasuno players.
"Go and give them some." Daichi said.
"Daichi, you want to help the enemy?!" Tanaka exclaimed.
"This is going to be a long game. It would be bad if they didn't give their best because they were hungry."
Tanaka nodded, "Right, we want to win while they are at their best."
Himari smiled at the conversation and stood up with two bentos. She walked over to Seijoh, and smiled at the players.
"We want to win against you guys at your best, so eat up."
"Mari!" Oikawa exclaimed and tried hugging her. She quickly moved out of the way and put her hand up.
"You're sweaty."
Oikawa pouted childishly before taking the bentos and smiling. He opened the one with the honeyed lemon slices and immediately began eating.
"Share, you idiot!" Iwaizumi yelled and snatched the other bento with the onigiri. His eyes lit up and he took one.
The rest of the players also began eating, so she turned around to return to her team when someone tapped her on her shoulder. She turned around and was met face to face with Kyotani, who had what seemed to be a permanent scowl on his face.
"Uh, sorry," was all he said.
Himari smiled and waved her bandaged hand, "It's alright, it's only sprained."
He nodded and took a bite out of the onigiri that was in his hand before turning around. Himari turned around again, but stopped when Oikawa called her name.
"Thank you!" The Seijoh players exclaimed.
"No problem. See ya later."
She headed back to her team where Tanaka grabbed her and looked at her face intently. She leaned back, but Tanaka still didn't let go.
"Tanaka, what's up buddy?"
He finally let her go and brushed off her shoulders, "Just making sure they didn't hurt you."
Himari laughed and collected the water bottles and towels. Five minutes later, the whistle blew.
It was time for the final set.
