The next day, Himari had woken up a little later than usual. She quickly got ready and packed a snack in her backpack before heading to her destination.

"I'll just walk there," Himari said to herself as she glanced at the bus stop.

Himari walked for about twenty minutes when she got to the right house. She rang the doorbell and waited. She could hear kids yelling inside and someone yelling back before the door finally opened.

"Come on in."

Himari walked in and took her shoes off. She looked at the scene in front of smiled. Two little kids were fighting over a tv remote while a younger child sat in between watching.

"Hey, cut it out. We're going to my room, so I'll put on a movie and you two will behave yourselves. Mom will be back soon."

The kids nodded and sat quietly as their older brother put on a movie. Once they were situated with snacks, the two went up to his room.

"You can sit anywhere."

Himari nodded and sat on the chair at his desk. She looked at him with a smile before pulling out three big envelopes.

"Congratulations Takeru, you've got some offers."

Takeru took the envelopes and opened each one. His smile widened for every line he read.

"Really?! I can't believe it!"

Himari smiled again, "There are some scholarships that they offered you, but to get them you have to be interviewed and evaluated. So, today we're going to do some interview practice."

Takeru looked at Himari and nodded. She got her notebook and was about to say something before stopping.

"Do you have any dress shirts and pants you can wear? Honestly a polo would do too."

Takeru looked at his clothes before looking back at Himari.

"What's wrong with my clothes?"

"It's an interview, so you have to dress professionally. It shows them that you're taking it seriously."

Takeru nodded and looked in his closet. He pulled out a wrinkled dress shirt along with some khakis. He also pulled out a couple of polo shirts.

Himari looked at the selection and nodded, "Do you know how to tie a tie?"

Takeru shook his head, so Himari tossed the dress shirt aside. She looked at the polo shirts before choosing the maroon one.

"This looks pretty good, right?"

Takeru nodded with a smile.

"Alright, so you'll wear this to the interviews. Now, let's start practicing."

Himari sat back down and Takeru sat in front of her.

"So Takeru Nakashima, right? Why do you think you deserve this scholarship?"

Takeru gave Himari a determined look, "I'm willing to work hard and play with the team. I also feel like being a part of such a diverse team will push me to new lengths."

Himari gave him an impressed look, "Have you been practicing?"

Takeru nodded, "Yeah, I really want this. I thought I should look up some questions in case I have to be interviewed."

Himari nodded and moved on to the next question.

"How do you handle setbacks during a game?"

"Well, um, I usually encourage my teammates and find other ways to get around the problem."

Himari marked down the question as one he needed to work on.

"So, for the interview you're going to need to avoid saying "um" and "uh" a lot. Also make sure to keep eye contact and it doesn't hurt to give some examples when answering the question."

Takeru nodded and they continued.

The whole day went by with Himari drilling Takeru with questions and him answering them. Himari corrected him at some points, but as they continued, Takeru was getting better and better at answering.

It wasn't until the late afternoon that they finished. Once they were done they sat in silence for a while before Takeru spoke up.

"Hey, my mom and brother are home and I still owe you ramen. Want to go?"

Himari smiled and nodded. The two got up and walked down the stairs. Takeru's mom was in the living room when the two walked by.

"Oh, Takeru! And you must be Nakamura, right?"

Himari nodded with a smile. The older woman smiled back.

"Thank you so much for helping Takeru. He was so happy after talking to you that day."

Himari nodded, "It's not a problem. Plus, I want to help him."

Takeru pulled Himari's arm, "We're going to go for ramen. Bye mom!"

"Bye you two!"

The two walked side by side in silence for a while before Takeru spoke up,

"I'm glad you're okay. I was really scared when I saw the news that day."

Himari breathed out and smiled, "Yeah, I'm glad too. I had to complete so much homework though."

Takeru laughed and they continued talking all the way to the small ramen restaurant.

"This place is the best. I always brought my teammates here."

Himari and Takeru ordered and while they were waiting, they talked about volleyball and their plans.

"So which university do you want to go to?" Himari asked.

"Definitely the University of Tokyo. It also has a really good sports education program."

Himari's eyes shined, "You want to be a coach?"

Takeru smiled, "Yeah, after playing for a while I definitely want to coach."

Himari nodded, "Well, I coach kids at Lil' Tykes. The director has been looking for some new coaches, I could recommend you."

"Seriously?"

Himari nodded. Takeru smiled wide, "Yes, I would really like that. Thanks!"

Himari waved him off. A few seconds later, their ramen arrived. They talked and laughed until they finished. Once Takeru paid, the two left.

As Himari was walking in the direction of her house, she noticed Takeru following her. She raised an eyebrow and he just smiled.

"What are you doing?"

"Making sure you get home safe, duh."

Himari rolled her eyes, "Then walk next to me. You look like a stalker."

Takeru ignored that last part and walked by her side. It was a comfortable silence for the fifteen minute walk from the restaurant to her house. Her knee was hurting a bit, but she knew with some rest that it would be all better.

"Alright, this is me."

Takeru smiled and nodded, "Bye. Do your best at nationals, I'll be cheering you guys on."

"Thanks. Text me when you get home."

Takeru gave her thumbs up and walked off. Himari walked into her warm house before groaning,

"I forgot to give him his meal plan."
