The next day, Himari was woken up in the afternoon by Iwaizumi, she groaned and shoved her face in her pillow.
"Mari, it's time to get up. We're leaving in an hour."
"Come back in thirty minutes."
Iwaizumi left and returned in thirty minutes. Himari groaned again, but she pulled herself out of bed. She quickly got ready and went downstairs to eat something.
"Sleeping beauty is finally awake, huh?"
Himari rolled her eyes at her uncle, but smiled once she bit into the delicious chocolate chip cookie her aunt had made.
"Alright, let's go."
Iwaizumi was nervous the whole ride to the university. He was fidgeting with his fingers and looking out the window with furrowed brows.
"Don't worry, all the players are dorks."
Kousei snorted, "Don't diss my team like that. But you're not wrong."
Himari laughed and watched as her uncle pulled into a parking space. Once he turned his truck off, they got out.
"Okay, let's tour the place first. The players should be arriving in an hour."
~
After the tour, Iwaizumi could confidently say that he loved the university. It was everything he imagined and more.
Afterwards, the three were walking to the gym where the volleyball team practiced. Iwaizumi was still nervous, but he was also excited.
"And here is the gym where the team practices."
When Kousei opened the door, Iwaizumi found himself staring at a huge gym. It was much bigger than the one at Seijoh.
"The players should be arriving soon."
Himari smiled, "Can I lead practice?"
Kousei snorted, "You just want to torture my players. Unfortunately, some of them already know your training methods. They'll refuse to practice if you lead."
Himari didn't get to answer because the gym door opened and revealed the team. A boy with blond hair and blue eyes saw Himari and his smile dropped.
"Coach, please don't tell me she's going to be leading our practice?!"
A slightly younger boy looked at Himari confused, "What's wrong?"
The blond boy grabbed him by the shoulders, "She's awful! Her training will make you want to quit volleyball!"
Himari looked to the side, "I'm not that bad."
"Yes you are!"
Himari frowned when she realized he understood her, "I forgot you're half Japanese."
Kousei sighed, "Well, that doesn't matter. Today you all will be split up and playing a small game. Hajime here was the ace of his volleyball team in high school. He's coming on as an athletic trainer."
The team smiled and nodded. The blond walked up to him and stretched his hand out,
"Nice to meet ya. I'm Chris," he introduced himself in Japanese.
"I'm Hajime, it's nice to meet you."
"Everyone warm up and then we'll start the game."
Chris ruffled Himari's hair and ran to warm up. Some of the players who knew her also ruffled her hair. She huffed and brushed through it to fix it.
"Chris, whenever I come back here, I'm going to be in charge of training, so get ready."
Chris's face paled, "Wait, Mari, I'm sorry. Wait, hold on, are you ignoring me?!"
Himari gave him a smile and he immediately got back to warming up. Chris reminded her of Oikawa with the way he acted which brought a smile to her face.
Yeah, Hajime will fit in fine.
~
The game had been going on for an hour. The team was impressed by how much power Iwaizumi had and the fact that he was able to blow past blocks.
Himari was exhausted, but she was glad to see Iwaizumi laughing and smiling. She knew he would fit right in.
"He'll definitely fit in here," Kousei said.
Himari nodded, "Yeah, I'm glad."
