A New King

The next day, Himari had to go to practice. She was excited to see the team again, but she was also tired.

When she got downstairs, she stumbled a little when she saw Kiyoko sitting at the table. Himari gave her a wave before getting something to eat. Once she had a granola bar in hand, she nodded at Kiyoko.

The two of them walked in silence. The crinkle of the granola bar wrapper filled it until Kiyoko spoke up.

"When are you getting your cast off?"

Himari looked at the blue cast, "The first day at nationals. I have to get a new cast today though."

Kiyoko nodded, a small smile gracing her face, "I'm glad you're back."

Himari nodded, "Me too."

The two had gotten to Karasuno and began setting up the gym. Yachi came a little after and gasped at the sight of her best friend.

"Mari!"

Yachi hugged the girl and Himari patted her head with a smile.

Soon the players started coming in.

"Mari, you're back!" Hinata exclaimed when he walked in.

Himari looked at him with a smile, "Yup! So did you learn anything new at the training camp?"

Hinata nodded excitedly, "Yup! I learned a lot!"

"Good. I want to see what you learned."

Hinata nodded again. Tanaka and Noya walked in next and immediately ran to the girl.

"Mari!"

They hung off of her and Himari sighed, patting their backs. They got off of her once Kageyama walked in and began drilling him with questions about the youth intensive.

Suga entered the gym and greeted everyone. He patted Himari's head and grabbed her arm.

"When are you getting your cast off?"

"The first day of nationals. I won't be here for afternoon practice, I have to get a new cast."

Suga nodded and went to talk to some of the other players. Himari talked to some of the players and answered their questions about how the camp went.

The morning practice went by quickly. Himari and Yachi walked to class together where Himari was bombarded by her classmates.

"Nakamura, we were so worried!"

"Yeah, we thought you died! But Yachi reassured us."

Himari talked to her classmates until the bell rang for class to start, which also signaled Himari's nap time.

The next day came and everyone was working hard to get everything ready for the Date Tech team. Suga had told her about how Hinata had almost received Kageyama's serve which she wished she could've seen.

"Man, I can't wait to see you guys play against Date Tech again. You guys have improved, but I'm sure they have too."

Ennoshita, who was standing next to her, nodded, "Yeah, I heard their setter was at the first year training camp with Tsukishima."

Himari smiled and put the jerseys out for the two teams. She looked towards the door when she heard footsteps.

"They're here."

The Date Tech team walked in and lined up, thanking them for the game. Himari smiled when Hinata and Aone acknowledged each other.

"Everyone gather around!" Ukai called.
