Y/n POV
"YAHH, KIM Y/N! GET UP! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!" my brother yelled, shaking me out of my slumber. I rubbed my eyes, still groggy, and turned to face the clock. The bright light made me squint. "7:45 AM... wait, WHAT? OMG..." I screamed, jumping out of bed and rushing to the bathroom.
The warm water hit my skin, and I hissed in shock. As I looked down, I noticed the bruises on my body. The painful remainders of being bullied at school. As the school's nerd, I was an easy target for the popular students, mostly girls. Their jealousy stung.
But I wasn't alone. My best friend, Taehyung, stood by me through thick and thin. He disregarded those "shitty whores" and spent most of his time with me. His protection came at a cost, though - it fueled their jealousy, and I became an even bigger target. We weren't in the same class, which made things harder.
After my shower, I dressed in my uniform, tied my hair into a ponytail, and checked the time: 8:10. "Fuck," I cursed under my breath, grabbing my bag and rushing to the living room. Just as I was about to leave, I collided with something solid.
Looking up, I saw Taehyung, his expression a mix of concern and frustration. Despite his anger, he helped me up, his strong hands gripping mine.
I stood up, rubbing my sore elbow, and Taehyung said, "We're going to be late because of you, dumbass." I opened my mouth to retort, but my brother, Jin, interrupted me.
"No worries, kids. Me and Namjoon will drop you off at school. But first, have breakfast, my young lady," he said, holding out a lunch box.
I groaned. "No, Jinnie, I'm late. I'll just skip breakfast."
Jin Oppa ignored my protest and handed me a lunch box, along with one for Tae. "Eat up! You need energy for school."
As we prepared to leave, Namjoon Oppa rushed towards us, yelling, "WAIT FOR ME!" He caught up, slightly out of breath, and said, "Okay, let's go now."
Tae and I slid into the backseat, while Jinnie drove and Joonie rode shotgun.
As we ate, I exclaimed, "Jinnie, your cooking is amajin! These pancakes are fluffy and delicious!" Tae nodded in agreement.
Jinnie smiled, glancing in the rearview mirror. "Thanks, kids. I'm glad you like it."
A few minutes later, we arrived at school. As I handed the empty lunch boxes to Joonie, the lid of one box broke.
Jinnie's expression turned stern. "NAMJOONAH, THIS IS THE 20TH LUNCH BOX YOU'VE BROKEN THIS MONTH!"
I giggled and whispered to Tae, "Someone's in trouble."
Tae chuckled, and we both stepped out of the car.
"Thanks, Jinnie! Have a great day!" I called out.
He smiled, waving goodbye. "You too, kiddo. Study hard!"
As we walked towards our classes, Tae nudged me. "You think Namjoon Hyung is going to get lectured the whole way home?"
I grinned mischievously. "Probably."
As we parted ways to attend our respective classes, I couldn't help but feel grateful for Taehyung's presence in my life. He made school tolerable, and I knew I could always count on him.
My first few classes passed in a blur. I took notes, answered questions, and tried to avoid eye contact with my tormentors.
At lunchtime, Tae and I met up in the cafeteria. We found a quiet corner and sat down to eat.
