Hoseok's expression turned serious. "Don't take it that way, Taehyung. I just really care about Y/n."
Tae raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
Hoseok's gaze locked onto mine, his eyes sincere. "And Y/n, don't worry from now on. You've got me by your side as well. Me and Taehyung will protect you from those...bitches."
My heart swelled at his words, a mix of gratitude and surprise.
"Thank you, Hoseok," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
Tae nodded in agreement. "Yeah, we've got your back."
Hoseok smiled, his eyes crinkling. "You're not alone, Y/n. Not anymore."
The cafe's noise faded into the background as I processed Hoseok's declaration.
Jiyeon's bullying, the constant fear, seemed to dissipate with Hoseok's promise.
"Hey, let's make a pact," Hoseok said, his voice lightening the mood.
"What kind of pact?" Tae asked, curiosity piqued.
"We'll stick together, no matter what," Hoseok replied. "We'll face whatever comes our way, as friends."
Tae grinned. "Sounds like a plan to me."
I nodded, feeling a sense of belonging. "I'm in."
Hoseok's smile broadened. "That's settled then."
As we clinked cups together, a sense of camaraderie filled the air.
Little did I know, our newfound friendship would change everything.
Hoseok POV
As I gazed at Y/n, I couldn't help but feel a pang of protectiveness. Those piercing brown eyes, once filled with fear, now sparkled with hope.
I meant every word I said. I'd do everything in my power to keep her safe.
Taehyung's knowing glance didn't go unnoticed. He'd always been perceptive, but I wasn't worried. My intentions were pure.
"Hey, let's make a pact," I said, trying to sound casual despite the turmoil inside.
Y/n's nod, accompanied by Taehyung's grin, sealed the deal.
As our cups clinked together, I felt a sense of responsibility wash over me.
But beneath that surface, a confusing storm brewed.
Why did I feel this way around Y/n? This intense desire to shield her, to make her smile?
I'd been dating Jiyeon, my secret girlfriend, for months. But with her, I never felt this....this depth.
Jiyeon was polished, perfect, and predictable. Our relationship was comfortable, calculated.
Yet, with Y/n, everything felt different. Uncharted.
I couldn't shake the irony - Jiyeon, the queen bee, bullied Y/n relentlessly.
My conscience nagged me, questioning my loyalty.
Was I truly committed to Jiyeon, or was I just trapped in a convenient facade?
Y/n's laughter broke through my thoughts.
This was new. Unfamiliar.
I didn't know how to process these emotions or what they meant.
One thing was certain, though: I couldn't ignore them.
