Hoseok POV
I watched Y/n walk away, tears streaming down her face. Each step felt like a dagger to my heart. I yearned to chase after her, to explain everything, but my legs felt rooted.
What could I say?
That Jiyeon, my secret ex, was the reason I'd been keeping Y/n in the dark?
That Jiyeon's manipulation and bullying had destroyed my family and now threatened Y/n?
My mind reeled under the weight of my secrets. Jungkook's words echoed: "Take care of Y/n, Hoseok. Keep her safe." But how could I when I was the one putting her in danger? I took a deep breath and began walking, downstairs.
As I left the rooftop, I saw Jiyeon leaning against a locker. Her eyes locked onto mine, and a cold, calculating glint flickered. "Hoseok," she said softly, "what's going on?" I shook my head. "Nothing," I lied. Jiyeon's gaze narrowed. "Don't play dumb, Hoseok. I know something's wrong."
I sighed, trying to keep my emotions in check. "Just leave me alone, Jiyeon." Her expression twisted into a sly smile. "You'll always be mine, Hoseok," she whispered. "And Y/n will never have you." My heart twisted, recognizing Jiyeon's true nature - a manipulator, a bully, a destroyer.
"You're to blame for everything," I spat, my anger boiling over. Jiyeon's eyes flashed. "You'll pay for that," she hissed. I turned to leave, my voice firm. "Stay away from Y/n." Jiyeon's voice followed me, but I was already gone.
I walked away from Jiyeon, my heart heavy with emotions.
How could I have been so blind?
Jiyeon's manipulation had destroyed my family and now threatened Y/n. I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and responsibility.
As I turned another corner, I spotted Jungkook leaning against a wall, his eyes fixed intently on me.
"Hoseok," he said, his voice low. "We need to talk."
I nodded, knowing I couldn't avoid this conversation any longer.
"About Jiyeon?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Jungkook's expression turned grave.
"No, it's about Y/n," he corrected.
My heart sank.
What happened to her?
"Let's find a quiet place," Jungkook suggested, leading me to an empty classroom.
The silence between us was oppressive, weighing heavily on my conscience.
"Hoseok," Jungkook began, his voice measured. "Y/n's been hurt. She was crying, and I could see the pain in her eyes."
My heart ached, guilt overwhelming me.
"What did she tell you?" I asked.
Jungkook's expression turned sympathetic.
"Not much, but I know it's related to you. She cares about you, Hoseok."
I felt a pang of regret.
"I've been lying to her," I confessed. "Hiding the truth."
Jungkook nodded.
"I know. But it's time to come clean. Y/n deserves the truth."
I took a deep breath, steeling myself.
"What do I do?" I asked.
Jungkook's gaze locked onto mine.
