Y/n POV
"Hoseok," I whispered, the name barely escaping my lips.
Yoongi's eyes narrowed, confusion etched on his face. "Who's Hoseok?" he asked gently.
I paused, collecting my thoughts. Memories of the past flooded my mind, and I struggled to find the right words. "He's... the one who cheated on me," I said finally.
Yoongi's expression turned serious. "What happened?" he asked, his voice low and urgent. I took a deep breath before diving into the painful memories.
"We dated through high school," I began. "Graduation day was supposed to be our celebration, but it turned into a nightmare. He kissed another girl right in front of me, in front of the person whom Jiyeon dated." My heart still ached from the betrayal.
Yoongi's face darkened. "He cheated on you on graduation day?" he spat. His anger was palpable, but I appreciated his concern.
I nodded, feeling the sting of tears. "The worst part? He didn't even apologize immediately. His regret came later, but it was too little, too late. He came to apologize, but the damage was done," I said, my voice firm.
Yoongi's eyes flashed with anger. "I'll make sure he regrets hurting you." His protective instincts kicked in, and I appreciated the sentiment.
I placed a hand on his arm. "No, Yoongi. Not today. Not ever. I just need to move on." I didn't want revenge; I wanted healing.
Yoongi's expression softened. "You deserve so much better, Y/n." His words wrapped around my heart, comforting and validating.
"You're strong, resilient," he said. "But today, you don't have to be. Today, just be vulnerable." His gentle tone soothed my soul.
I exhaled, feeling a weight lift. For once, I didn't have to pretend. With Yoongi, I could be me – broken, healing, human.
Yoongi's words enveloped me in a warm embrace. I felt seen, heard, and understood. For the first time in a long while, I allowed myself to be vulnerable.
Just then, the waitress arrived with our food, breaking the intimate moment. I smiled weakly, grateful for the distraction.
"Thank you," Yoongi said, as the waitress set the plates before us.
I pushed my plate toward him. "Want some of my fries?" I offered, trying to lighten the mood.
Yoongi's eyes crinkled at the corners. "You sure?"
I nodded. "I can't finish all these."
He smiled and took a few fries from my plate.
As we ate, the silence between us transformed from awkward to comfortable.
"You're really something, Y/n," Yoongi said, his voice low and sincere.
I looked up, meeting his gaze. "What do you mean?"
"You're strong, resilient," he replied. "But you also let yourself be vulnerable. That takes courage."
My heart swelled at his words.
"Thanks, Yoongi," I whispered.
He reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair behind my ear.
"You deserve all the kindness in the world, Y/n," he whispered back.
My pulse quickened at his touch.
Yoongi's fingers lingered on my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
"You know, Y/n," he said, his voice low and gentle.
