Hoseok POV
As I stood in my apartment, the silence felt suffocating. Taehyung's warning still lingered, echoing in my mind like a cruel mantra: "Stay away from Y/N." Could I really abandon her? The thought sent a pang through my chest.
Every fiber of my being yearned to be near her, to protect her. But Taehyung's words carried weight. He knew my secrets, my shame. Jiyeon's betrayal still seared my mind. I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd failed Y/N.
My phone buzzed, shattering the stillness. An unknown number flashed on the screen. "You'll regret crossing me, Hoseok." Jiyeon's threat sent a surge of anger through me. My grip tightened, but I knew I couldn't react. Not now. Not when Y/N's safety hung in the balance.
I took a deep breath, trying to clear my head. Memories of Y/N flooded my mind – her bright smile, her laughter. But Taehyung's protectiveness lingered. Would he ever let me near her again?
I began to pace, my footsteps echoing off the walls. Back and forth, across the room. My thoughts swirled, torn between my heart and my duty.
Suddenly, Jiyeon's chilling words resurfaced in my mind: "I'll hurt her again, to get what I want." Y/N's safety came first; I couldn't risk Jiyeon's twisted games.
Without hesitation, I dialed Jiyeon's number. My heart raced as I waited for her to answer.
"Hello, Hoseok," she purred.
"What do you want from me?" I demanded, trying to keep my tone steady.
Jiyeon's laughter sent a shiver down my spine. "I want you by my side, Hoseok. Leave that bitch Y/N alone."
My stomach twisted with disgust, but I knew I had to play along. For Y/N's sake, I had to protect her.
"I'll do it," I lied, gritting my teeth. "But leave Y/N alone."
Jiyeon's voice dripped with triumph. "I'll never let her go, Hoseok. You're mine now."
I felt a wave of nausea, but I knew I'd made the right decision. I'd do anything to keep Y/N safe, even if it meant sacrificing my own happiness.
The call ended, but Jiyeon's words lingered. I felt trapped, caught in a web of deceit.
I stood frozen, my phone still clutched in my hand. Jiyeon's words echoed in my mind, a constant reminder of the danger Y/N faced.
How could I protect Y/N now?
I knew I had to keep up the charade, pretend to be Jiyeon's willing partner.
But at what cost?
My heart ached, weighed down by the secrets and lies.
Suddenly, my phone buzzed again.
Taehyung's name flashed on the screen.
"Hoseok, where are you?" he asked, his voice firm.
"I'm at home," I replied.
"Stay there. I'm coming over."
My stomach twisted into knots. What happened again? I just visited Taehyung, then why is he coming?
What did Taehyung want now?
Was he checking up on me?
Or did he have a new warning?
I paced, waiting for Taehyung's arrival.
The doorbell rang, breaking the silence.
I opened the door to find Taehyung's stern expression.
