Hoseok POV
As I walked away from her apartment, I couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt. I had promised to be honest with her, but I couldn't bring myself to reveal the truth. Not yet.
Taehyung fell into step beside me, his eyes narrowed. "What's going on, Hoseok?" he asked. "Nothing," I replied. Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "Don't lie to me, Hoseok. I know you." I sighed, running a hand through my hair. "I'll tell you later," I said.
We walked in silence, the tension between us palpable. At school, I went through the motions. My mind wandered, drifting back to her. The way she smiled. The way she looked at me. As if she could see right through me.
After school, I couldn't face her yet. My thoughts were a jumbled mess. I needed a moment to collect myself. "Meet you at her place later?" Taehyung asked. "Yeah," I replied. "I'll head there now," Taehyung said. "I need to swing by Jungkook's first," I said.
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "Need a change of clothes?" he asked. I nodded. "Yeah." Taehyung grinned. "See you soon." I watched Taehyung walk away, then headed to Jungkook's apartment.
I let myself in, familiar with the layout. Jungkook's apartment was comforting. I changed quickly, my mind still reeling.
What would I tell her?
How would I keep my secrets hidden?
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing thoughts.
I grabbed my phone, checking the time. Soon, I'd have to face her. And the secrets I kept. With one last glance, I headed out. To her apartment. To face whatever lay ahead.
As I walked, my anxiety grew. What would she see in my eyes? Would she sense my unease? I pushed the thoughts away, focusing on the present. I reached her apartment, took a deep breath, and knocked. The door opened, and she smiled. My heart skipped a beat. For a moment, everything else faded away. "Hey," she said. "Hey," I replied. Our eyes met. And I knew I was in trouble. Deep trouble.
Her smile faltered for a moment, as if she sensed something was off. "Hey," she repeated, her voice softer. I forced a smile, trying to reassure her. "Hey," I said, stepping inside.
Taehyung and Jungkook were lounging on the couch, laughing. The atmosphere was relaxed, but my tension remained. I joined them, trying to blend in.
But her eyes kept drifting to mine, searching and questioning. I avoided her gaze, focusing on the TV. The silence between us grew thicker.
Until Taehyung broke it. "Ordering pizza?" he asked. Jungkook nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah." "Sounds good," I added.
The conversation flowed easily, but my mind wandered. To the secrets I kept. To the weight of my lies. She sat beside me, close. Her hand brushed mine, sending a spark of electricity through my body.
My heart skipped a beat. I pulled away subtly, not wanting to arouse suspicion. But her eyes narrowed. She sensed something. I knew it.
And I knew I was running out of time. To reveal the truth. To face the consequences.
The pizza arrived, and we dug in. The silence between us grew until she spoke. "Hoseok?"
