Y/n POV

I turned away, hiding my tears. Hoseok's words cut deep. He was scared, but of what? Losing me? Hurting me? Being hurt himself? I couldn't shake off the feeling that he was hiding something crucial.

"Hoseok, I need to know," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "What are you afraid of?" But he hesitated, his eyes darting around. "Y/n, I... I don't know if I can do this," he stammered. My heart sank.

Was he going to push me away again?

I grasped his arm, desperation creeping into my voice. "Hoseok, please. Don't shut me out. Not now." He looked at me, his eyes filled with torment. "Y/n, it's not that simple," he whispered. "My secrets... they could change everything." His words sent a shiver down my spine.

"What secrets?" I pressed, my voice firm. But he hesitated, fear written across his face. "Y/n, I... I'm not ready," he stammered. My heart pounded. "Hoseok, you promised," I reminded him. He shook his head. "I know," he whispered. "But I... I just can't."

My anger flared. "How can I trust you if you won't be honest with me?" I demanded. Hoseok's eyes pleaded, but I was beyond understanding. "Hoseok, I've had enough," I said, my voice cold. "Either you tell me the truth, or we're done." His face crumpled, and for a moment, I thought I saw a glimmer of courage.

But then his mask slipped back into place. "I'm sorry, Y/n," he whispered. "I just can't." My heart shattered. "Fine," I said, turning away. "Leave me alone." Hoseok's voice echoed behind me, "Y/n, wait—" but I was already gone.

I walked away, tears streaming down my face.

Why couldn't he trust me?

What secrets could be so bad that he'd risk losing me?

The questions swirled in my mind, but I knew I deserved better. I deserved the truth.

As I entered the hallway, I spotted Jungkook and Taehyung chatting near their lockers.

Taehyung's eyes locked onto mine, and he immediately rushed towards me, concern etched on his face. "Y/n, sweetheart, what's wrong?" he asked, grasping my arms.

"Hoseok," I stammered, tears welling up again. "He's hiding something from me. He won't tell me what it is."

Jungkook's expression turned grave, his eyes flicking between Taehyung and me. "Take Y/n home, Taehyung. Make sure she's safe. I need to talk to Hoseok."

Taehyung nodded without hesitation. "I've got her, Kook."

Jungkook's gaze softened as he looked at me. "Y/n, go with Taehyung. I'll handle this."

His words seemed laced with an unspoken understanding, but I was too distraught to decipher it.

Taehyung gently guided me toward the exit. "Come on, sweetheart. Let's get you home."

As we walked out of school, I glanced back, searching for Hoseok. But he was nowhere to be seen.

"Taehyung, take me to your apartment," I said suddenly.

Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "What about going home to Jin and Joon?"

"I don't want them to worry," I replied. "They've been stressing about me lately, and I need some space."

Taehyung's expression softened. "Okay, sweetheart. We'll go to my place."

We walked in silence, the evening air wrapping around us like a comforting blanket.
