Sofia : A lesson

It is still a hassle to get an appointment to meet Frey. It's still like the first time I went to meet him but fortunately now I have a VIP pass. A word from Anthony and voila, he gave me a whole evening of his time. Anthony was all grumpy and grumbling because Frey teased him way too much after he explained why I needed his piece of advice.

My work at my current work site had to put to pause due to the technician confidently wrong fixed all the backlights in every room because he had no idea where they belong and assumed they were all same and apparently it was Joe's job to look after the lighting work and the idiot went to help others while the technician ruined all the work for the day. I had no option but to put him on night duty and strictly instructed to complete the job by tomorrow. Without the lighting work is done we cannot move to placing the ancient Egyptian paintings, the owner proudly claimed he had imported from Egypt claiming they were original. I don't care if they are original or not, if they were, I have no business how he managed to own them or smuggle them. We had to head back home early except for Joe and I was in no mood to go home any time soon. So, I took left and went to Anthony office.

"It's not that hard to guess how she trapped him. She was just an employee like us who got lucky to work with him and we have to condemn her. She saw the golden goose and seized the opportunity. Look where it brought her. And have you seen how he treats her, what I wouldn't give to be treated that way. It's no secret how she got her way to it" I accidently overheard an over enthused girl commenting in the cafeteria.

I frowned at the comment. It's not that I was eavesdropping or anything but it was honestly a cheap and ridiculous way to comment on anyone. After I found out Anthony was in middle of closing a deal, I thought of grabbing a coffee. Just an iced coffee wouldn't hurt our evening plans, I said to myself. His secretary wanted to inform him I came by but I didn't want to interrupt his work in middle. He seemed nervous and I understood he'll earn a growl or a mild punishment for not informing him of my arrival. I gave him a knowing smile and a nod to assure him I'll make sure Anthony will do no such dramatics.

But having to hear such ugly comments in the premises of his office made me want to grunt but I told myself it was none of business until I realized of whom they were talking about. Me.

I happen to sit on the other side of the table set up of this particular group of people. Most of them weren't much commenting but this one girl got way ahead of herself. After certain amount of time, I understood that she was confidently convincing them that I seduced Anthony until I got my way with him and I have him whipped around my finger. I kept my temper and rising anger under the foot until she made an awful assumption and that was my last knot. My temper exploded and I pivoted on my heel and decided to show her how well I wrapped him around my finger.

"I'm sure you could do better seducing than me." I rasped appearing in front of them out of the blue. My face is a mirror of pure anger and destruction. I contemplated shattering her teeth down her throat but resisted by folding my hands, pinning her with a death stare. They all stood in one motion. The colour on their faces bleaching as their minds registered who I was and I'd heard every word of their filthy conversation.

"Let's test your theory. Let's test YOUR Boss and see how easy it is to seduce him. Hopefully, he'll give you the same treatment you were dying to do anything to get"

I didn't care I was transfiguring into the sassy boss Anthony often claimed I was and oh I took great pleasure envisioning how greatly I'll make her regret every word she spat. Her eyes darting from me and her fellow companions, she stumbled on words. Apologizing and begging. But it's too late now. Jason, he's secretary skedaddled to us in a blink and started to scan their faces to get a hint of what had happened. He took one glance at me and definitely understood something is absurdly wrong and one of them is going to get fired today. Including himself.
