-Start of Chapter 61-

Every word fades into silence, as I look around the long dining table, the clinking of cutlery against fine porcelain echoing in the air. The warmth of the chandeliers overhead does little to thaw the ice creeping through my veins. I sit stiffly in my chair, pretending to pick at my food, but my mind is a million miles away, spiralling through the chaos of the last few hours.

Everyone else is here—my brothers, Sunghoon, and, of course, her.

Sumin.

Of course she HAD to sit next to Sunghoon...

Every glance she throws Sunghoon's way makes my stomach churn.

She sits directly across from me, her eyes gleaming with mischief. The way she carries herself, all grace and ease, only makes the bitter taste in my mouth stronger. I glance toward Sunghoon, who looks uncomfortable, clearly trying to avoid Sumin's gaze. His fingers twitch near his fork, like he's desperate for something to ground him.

He looks tense, his jaw clenched as he tries to avoid eye contact with Sumin. It's clear he's uncomfortable, and for a fleeting second, I wonder if he's as trapped as I feel.

But that doesn't stop the anger from boiling inside me.

I glance at Sumin who catches my eye and a smug smirk forms on her face.

Can this bitch not stop talking for once?!?!

"Sumin, I think we should on the dinner. They've had a long journey and are probably hungry" Suho's says as he tries to calm his sister down. Sumin does not even spare him a glance.

I refuse to believe these two share the same blood...

But that doesn't stop her.

"Y/N-nniee" Sumin's voice cuts through the noise like a blade, dripping with false sweetness. "You seem a bit quiet tonight. Is everything alright? You've been so... reserved since you found out about me and Sunghoon." She pauses for effect, the glint in her eyes far too smug. "It must have been quite the shock, learning about our... history."

Her words feel like a slap, each one cutting deeper than the last. I don't respond, gripping my fork tighter, trying to focus on keeping my expression neutral.

I swear, if it weren't for My brother's reputation I would've taken these plates and smashed it on that head!

She leans forward slightly, her voice lowering to an almost conspiratorial whisper. "But you shouldn't feel bad, you know. I'm sure Sunghoon means well." She gives a mocking little laugh, glancing at him before continuing. "It's not like you two had something going on, right? I mean, that would be ridiculous."

"Sumin! Where are your manners?!" Suho gasps with a scolding glare.

Clearly they never existed in the first place.

The air leaves the room. Her question—her joke—hangs there, mocking and cruel.

Sunghoon's head snaps toward me, panic flashing across his face. "My Lady-"

But I don't let him finish. The words bubble up from a place deep inside me, colder than I ever thought possible. I meet Sumin's gaze, refusing to back down. "You're right, Princess Sumin." My voice is calm, deceptively steady. "We had nothing going on."
