-Start of Chapter 89-

Y/N's POV

Everything feels distant at first. The world around me is cloaked in silence, save for the soft rhythm of my own breathing. My body feels heavy, as if weighed down by an invisible force, and every attempt to move is sluggish. Slowly, though, the fog begins to clear.

and I become aware of something warm and firm wrapped around my hand.My eyelids flutter open, and the blurry world around me begins to take shape. The first thing I see is a familiar face—Sunghoon.

He's sitting by my bedside, his hand holding mine gently, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

Behind him, Jungwon stands, arms crossed and eyes fixed on me, his expression unreadable.

"Sunghoon?" I whisper, my voice hoarse and barely audible.

His smile grows wider as relief floods his features. "You're awake," he says softly, his tone filled with warmth. "You had us all worried, My Lady.

Without thinking, I sit up and throw my arms around him, holding him tightly. "You're okay," I murmur, my voice breaking slightly. "I thought—

"Ow, ow, ow!" Sunghoon chuckles, his voice strained but light. "Careful, my... ow-!"

Sunghoon says with a weak chuckle, his words interrupted by a wince. "I'm not exactly in the best shape either, remember?"

I quickly pull back, my cheeks burning with embarrassment. "I'm so sorry" I say, my hands hovering near him as if to help, but unsure how. "Are- are you okay now?"

Sunghoon shakes his head, though his pale complexion and the tightness around his eyes betray the truth. "Nothing I can't handle" he says lightly, brushing off my concern. "But I think Jay would scold us both if you strangled me with affection right now."

Despite myself, I can't help but smile, though it trembles at the edges. "I thought I lost you" I whisper, my voice quivering.

His smile softens, and he reaches up to brush a stray strand of hair from my face. "It'll take more than that to get rid of me" he teases, though his tone carries an undertone of sincerity.

A quiet cough interrupts us, drawing my attention to Jungwon. He's still standing at the foot of the bed, his arms crossed tightly over his chest. His expression hasn't shifted, but there's something in his eyes—an intensity, a worry he doesn't voice.

I glance at him, suddenly feeling self-conscious under his unwavering gaze. "Jungwon" I say softly, my voice a little steadier now.

"You gave us quite the scare" he says, his voice low and even, but not unkind. "Don't do it again."

It's not a request—it's a command, though there's a softness in his tone that surprises me. I nod slowly, my throat tightening.

Jungwon's gaze lingers on me for a moment longer before he moves to a small tray near the bedside, lifting a bowl of steaming broth. He sets it down gently in front of me.

"You need to eat" he says, his voice calm but firm. "It'll help with your strength."

I nod, though I suddenly feel too weak to hold the spoon properly. Jungwon notices, stepping forward without hesitation to help me. I glance up at him, and he merely arches a brow, silently daring me to protest.
