-Start of Chapter 112-
The tension that had weighed down on all of us seems to ease as everyone begins to leave.
Sunoo stretches his arms above his head, already halfway out the door. "I'm going to pretend that entire conversation never happened. Bye!"
"Yeah, same" Riki grumbles, tossing a lazy wave over his shoulder before disappearing behind him. "Ughh that woman's name gives me goosebumps."
Heeseung lingers for a second longer, giving me a small, reassuring nod before turning to leave without a word.
And then, it's quieter.
I let out a soft sigh, trying to relax my shoulders when a familiar presence moves closer.
"Hey" Sunghoon says, voice gentle as he steps into my space. His eyes search mine, soft and warm in a way that makes my chest feel strangely... calm.
"Hey." I echo, my voice lighter now.
For a moment, neither of us says anything. It's peaceful—comforting in a way I didn't realize I needed. His hand brushes against mine, not quite holding it but close enough to feel the warmth of his skin.
"You okay?" he asks quietly, his gaze never leaving mine.
"Yeah" I murmur. "Just... processing everything, I guess."
Sunghoon nods, and there's something so gentle in the way he looks at me—like I'm fragile but not broken. "You're handling it good. It must be hard, going though your mother's diaries"
A small chuckle escapes me, "I don't have to worry. After all I have you by my side."
Before he can say anything else, a groan cuts through the air.
"Ughhh." Jake's voice drips with exaggerated annoyance as he strides over. "Not here, please."
Sunghoon turns, glaring over his shoulder. "What do you want now?"
Jake crosses his arms, disguested like he's caught us doing something scandalous. "Lend me my brother, will you? We had to stop in the middle of a duel." he says looking at me.
Sunghoon rolls his eyes so hard it's a miracle they don't get stuck. "Really? Right now?"
"Yup." Jake says with zero remorse.
Sunghoon lets out a dramatic sigh before turning back to me with an exaggerated pout. "I must go, My Lady." he says, all mock seriousness, bowing slightly as if he's some tragic hero being torn away too soon.
I chuckle, shoving his shoulder lightly. "Yeah, yeah. Go on. I'll try to survive without you."
He flashes me a playful wink before dragging himself toward Jake like it's the biggest burden in the world.
"I'm bored watching them duel alone," Jay's voice cuts through, his tone flat but playful. He walks over, hands stuffed in his pockets. "They're mostly just bickering anyway. Wanna keep me company?"
I glance over at Jake and Sunghoon, who are already arguing over something ridiculous—probably whose stance is better or who cheated last time.
I offer Jay a small smile. "Sure—"
