~How can Terry be so perfect....~

-Start of Chapter 48-

A few days has passed since then.

Everything feels more different...

Knowing that they had it worse than me... I feel more pathetic.

They've had to deal with my emotional ass for so long when they should be the ones comforted.

I wonder what the other's past are...

The library is quiet, the only sounds the soft rustling of pages and the occasional creak of old wood. I sit in a corner, flicking through my mother's notebook, hoping to find more clues about the cure. The diary entries are cryptic, filled with confusing riddles. Yet it still looks very neat.

As I turn the pages, my mind wanders back to Riki's story. The pain in his eyes, the weight of his past—it all feels so overwhelming.

I am so lost in thought that I almost don't hear the door creak open. I look up, my heart skipping a beat when I see Taehyun standing in the doorway.

He has a fresh cut on his cheek, the wound still raw and angry.

I swallow hard, trying to mask my concern. "Oppa, how do you feel?" I ask, my voice barely above a whisper.

He doesn't look me in the eye, walking over to me. "I've been better." he replies, his tone cold, but the pain in his eyes betrays him. "It's just a scratch."

He notices the notebook in my hand, his gaze softening for a moment. "Is that Mum's notebook?

I nod, holding it out to him.  "One of them. She has loads."

He reaches for it, his hands trembling slightly as he takes it from me.

He gulps, looking unsure before he opens it.

He flips through the pages slowly, feeling each one as he goes through it. Every now and then, he pauses, lost in thought.

"Her handwriting was beautiful..." he says and I can't help but sadly smile.

"Yeah... I know cursive looks good but I never knew it could look this beautiful." I say nodding.

Taehyun picks up another one of our mother's notebooks from the table, opening it carefully.

He stops halfway through, looking confused. "Why are all the pages blank?

I shake my head, feeling the same frustration that has haunted me for days.

"I don't know. I've tried everything, but there's nothing. Maybe it is truly blank.

He frowns, running his fingers over the empty pages as if hoping to uncover some hidden message.

"It doesn't make sense. She wouldn't keep a blank notebook.

"Exactly." I say "There has to be something we're missing. me and Jay many ways to open it but nothing worked.

He closes the notebook gently, his eyes meeting mine. "What are you looking for anyways? Also why are you even staying here?"

I hesitate, not sure how to answer. Taehyun's eyes bore into mine, searching for an explanation. With a sigh, I finally tell him everything... Well mostly everything.
