Start of Chapter 133-

Y/N's POV

I jerk awake to a sharp pain lancing through my ribs. The taste of iron floods my mouth and I cough, hot and wet, spitting blood onto the cracked stone beside me.

The room is dim, only a thin slice of light breaking through a barred window high above. The walls are damp, cracked. An abandoned castle, forgotten by time. Chains bite into my wrists and ankles. I try to move, but my body feels like stonr.

Around me, the others begin to stir. Heeseung struggles against his shackles, his face tight with pain. Jake pulls hard at his chains, teeth gritted, but they don't budge. Jay coughs violently, his body flickering in and out of visibility. Sunoo is pale, barely conscious, his head lolling. Jungwon sits slumped, eyes half-shut, and Riki groans, blood streaked down his temple. Sunghoon too, bound, struggling against the iron digging into his wrists.

And then I see her.

Seorin. Silver hair falling over her shoulders, eyes glowing red like burning coals. She stands in the center of the room as if she owns it. Her voice cuts through the silence.

"Tch. Took you all long enough to wake up."

Jay forces himself upright, coughing. "What... do you want?"

She smirks. "What I've always wanted. To be human again."

Jake growls, tugging at his chains. "Then why lock us up? We were searching for the cure!"

Seorin tilts her head. "You were searching too slowly. "

Sunoo's eyes flutter open and his breath hitches. He goes pale and slides toward blackness; I lurch to shout, but the chains hold me back. Seorin glides forward and, with a cool hand, pushes his hair back from his forehead.

Seorin is in front of him  in an instant, her fingers on the back of his head, yanking his hair abck. Sunoo's eyes fly open as a strangled scream escapes

"Stay awake" she mocks. "Don't be weak."

Heeseung thrashes against his shackles.

"Let him go!" he roars.

Seorin only laughs, straightening, running her hands through her silver hair as she gets up again.

She walks and stops before me, and I can smell her—cold metal and something floral under it. "You think you're here by accident? The attacks, the poisonings, the chaos—every little thing that shoved you into the dark? That was my hand. I orchestrated wounds, whispers, murders. I wanted you all to know fear, to taste loss. " Her laugh is soft. "It felt... fitting."

Sunghoon speaks up, through his chocked voice, "You wanted us to suffer. Because you never liked us in the house. The problem was us.. Then why... why would hurt Y/N?!"

The laugh that slides from Seorin is cruel, delighted. "So you truly do not know. Not even of your own mother's work? Not of the diaries? Not of the visions?" She levels those red eyes at me, and my throat tightens. "Do you think your mother searched for a cure for no reason? She worked herself hollow because she saw what was coming."
