-Start of Chapter 90-

The room quiets down after Soobin's resolute declaration, and slowly, one by one, everyone starts to leave, their faces still heavy with worry. Jungwon lingers by my bedside, his brow furrowed, as though he's debating whether to stand guard all night.

"You should rest" I say softly, my voice lighter now that the tension in the room has lessened.

"I'm fine" he replies curtly, arms crossed as he sits on the edge of the bed.

"Jungwon" I press, giving him a pointed look. "I'm awake now. You don't have to babysit me anymore."

He sighs, clearly reluctant, but before he can argue further, Sunghoon places a firm hand on his shoulder. "She's right. Go get some sleep, Jungwon. I'll stay with her."

Jungwon glances between us, his lips pressing into a thin line. Finally, he relents, standing with a heavy sigh. "Fine. But if anything happens, you call for me."

"Yes, yes," I say with a small smile, waving him off. "Now go."

He hesitates for a moment longer before finally leaving the room.

Sunghoon is sitting in the chair Jungwon vacated a couple hours ago. He picks up the small bowl of fruit on the bedside table.

"Hungry?" he asks, his voice soft.

I nod, and before I can reach for the bowl, he scoots his chair closer and picks up a strawberry with the fork.

"I can feed myself" I say, my brows furrowing in protest. "See?" I hold up my hand, giving my fingers an exaggerated wiggle. "Fully functioning."

Sunghoon doesn't even blink as he brings the fork to my lips. "You lost a lot of blood, My Lady. I'm not letting you move at all."

I huff, reluctantly taking the bite. "Then what about your wounds?" I say after swallowing, narrowing my eyes at him. "They're worse than mine."

He leans back slightly, a smug grin tugging at his lips. "I'm a vampire. I'll heal quickly."

"That's not fair," I pout, crossing my arms in mock indignation. "This is discrimination."

Sunghoon chuckles, his laugh light and warm. "Discrimination? Against humans? You're really going for it huh."

"Well, it is!" I insist, jutting my chin out. "Just because you're all supernaturally speedy healers doesn't mean you can boss me around."

"Oh, I'm definitely going to boss you around," he teases, offering me another bite. "Especially if it means keeping you alive."

I roll my eyes but take the bite anyway, hiding a smile behind the fork. "You're annoyinggg."

"And you're stubborn," he quips, his grin widening.

We fall into a comfortable rhythm, Sunghoon feeding me while I throw half-hearted complaints his way, which he effortlessly brushes off. 

As he offers me the last piece of fruit, I tilt my head at him playfully. "So, are you going to let me feed you next, or are you going to keep being a vampire and act all superior?"
