~Yo im back with another ch~
-Start of Chapter 65-
I stand alone on the balcony, watching as the sun dips below the horizon, casting a soft glow over the garden below. A breeze tugs at my hair, and for a second, I close my eyes, letting the quiet sink in, hoping it'll clear my head. The day has been heavy, every hour dragging with thoughts I can't shake.
Then, a knock at the door breaks the silence. I grit my teeth, already guessing who it is.
"Who is it?" I call, making no effort to hide my irritation.
"My Lady, please... it's me. I just need a moment."
"Go away, Sunghoon" I reply firmly, feeling a tiredness settle into my bones. "This is the sixth time you've asked."
Silence. Finally, I hear his footsteps fade, and I sigh, trying to ease the tightness in my chest. I know he'll be back, and I know he won't give up until I agree to talk. But I'm not ready—not today, not yet.
A few minutes pass, the sun sinking lower, painting the sky in shades of pink and orange. Just as I start to lose myself in the colours, another knock comes, sharper this time. I whip around, irritation flaring.
"What now?!" I snap, ready to tell him off for good this time.
But it's not Sunghoon who opens the door. It's Mrs. Kim, her hands folded neatly in front of her, her gaze calm but a little sad. The sight of her instantly melts away my anger, leaving guilt in its place.
"Oh... Mrs. Kim, I'm sorry. I thought—"
"There's no need to apologize, my dear" she says gently, stepping further inside. "But I thought you might want to know... Sir Sunghoon has been standing outside your door all day. He hasn't moved from that spot once."
My mouth opens, but no words come out. Mrs. Kim's eyes hold a quiet understanding, as if she knows exactly what I'm feeling.
"I think he's hoping you might hear him out, just this once" she says, her voice so soft, like she's coaxing me to see reason. "Whatever he has to say must be important if he's waited this long."
I look away, biting my lip, my hands gripping the balcony railing as I try to sort through my emotions. I don't want to give him the satisfaction of a conversation. And yet... knowing he's been there, waiting, a part of me can't help but waver.
After a long, quiet breath, I nod, feeling the tension slip from my shoulders. "All right... send him in."
Mrs. Kim's eyes crinkle with a small, warm smile, and she leaves the room, leaving the door slightly open behind her.
Seconds later, Sunghoon steps inside, looking as tense and hesitant as I feel. He stops a few steps away ,his gaze facing the floor.
"Thank you... for letting me in." he murmurs, voice low.
I cross my arms, trying to keep my walls up, even though they're already starting to crumble. "You have two minutes. Make them count."
Sunghoon stands there, his head lowered, eyes fixed on the floor as he mumbles, "I... I should have told you sooner."
But his words don't touch me. Not even close. The anger that's been building in me since everything went down, the fury I swallowed to keep my composure—it's all boiling over.
"Should have?" I snap, my voice rising. "You should have told me? That's all you have to say?"
Sunghoon flinches, looking up, startled. "My Lady, I just... I didn't want to hurt you more—"
