-Start of Chapter 108-
The conversation slowly comes to an end.
Heeseung sighs, leaning back in his seat, arms crossed. "Well... we'll see about your visions later. For now, let's get to work."
He nods toward Jungwon.
Jungwon, ever composed, subtly nods back before speaking. "Meeting's over."
One by one, everyone begins to leave. Jake stretches his arms over his head, mumbling something about needing food. Sunoo follows him, shaking his head like this entire meeting just drained his soul. Riki skips ahead, already making jokes to Jungwon, who simply exhales in that 'I have to deal with this' kind of way. Jay and Heeseung exchange a few words before walking out together.
I hesitate, my eyes flickering toward Sunghoon. He hasn't said a word since I told them about my visions. He hasn't even looked at me.
Now's my chance.
I take a small step toward him. "Sunghoon, can we—"
But before I can finish, he turns on his heel and walks away.
Just like that.
My chest tightens. A sting settles in my throat, but I swallow it down. I should've expected this. I did expect this.
And yet, it still hurts.
~~~~~~~
The dying light of the sun filters through the stained glass windows, scattering fractured hues of red, gold, and violet onto the marble floor. My footsteps echo softly as I walk down the corridor, the fading warmth of the day brushing against my skin.
Then—I hear it.
The sharp, quick whistles of metal slicing through air. Sword.
I follow the sound, curiosity pulling me forward. As I step into the training hall, I spot him—Sunghoon. His back is to me, his blade cutting cleanly through the air. Every movement is controlled, precise, almost effortless. He doesn't notice me.
I watch him for a moment, a small smile tugging at my lips. Then, without a word, I grab one of the swords resting nearby. The cool weight settles comfortably in my grip, like an old friend.
Then—he turns. Fast.
His sword swings in a sharp, deadly arc, cutting through the empty air behind him—except it isn't empty anymore.
I lift my own sword, blocking him mid-swing.
Clang!
The impact reverberates through my arms, but I hold firm
Sunghoon freezes for a fraction of a second before his grip tightens. His shock disappears just as quickly as it came, replaced by something sharper—colder.
"Can we talk?" I ask, holding my stance.
"No." he says, voice clipped as he lowers his sword. "I'd like you to leave, My Lady."
I exhale, unfazed. "Alright, then... how about a deal?"
His jaw tightens. "What kind of deal?"
I tilt my head, amusement flickering in my chest. "A duel."
Sunghoon doesn't move.
"First one to drop their sword loses," I continue. "If I win, you talk to me. If you win, I'll leave you alone."
