~off topic ya'll but my man Soobin is backk!!!!~
-Start of Chapter 109-
I slide my sword back into the stand with a soft clink, exhaling as I turn to face Sunghoon. He hasn't moved, still gripping his own sword, but his expression is unreadable.
"...Sunghoon."
He doesn't react.
I sigh. "I'm sorry."
That gets a reaction—just barely. His grip tightens, his jaw clenches, but he doesn't look at me.
"I should've told you about the visions earlier," I continue, shifting on my feet. "I just—didn't know how."
Sunghoon lets out a slow breath. "I thought we weren't supposed to hide things from each other."
"I know," I mumble. "It wasn't on purpose, okay? I just... thought if I ignored it, maybe it wouldn't be a big deal."
He scoffs, shaking his head. "Yeah, real smart."
I frown. "Okay, I get it—I messed up."
He finally looks at me, expression flat. "Yeah, you did."
I huff. "Are you just gonna keep repeating that?"
"Maybe."
We stare at each other for a few seconds. The tension isn't as sharp anymore, but it's still there—lingering.
"...Are you mad?" I ask after a beat.
He exhales, running a hand through his hair. "No."
I raise an eyebrow.
"Okay, maybe a little" he mutters. "But mostly, I just—" He exhales again, shaking his head. "You scared me, alright?"
That makes me pause. "Scared you?"
"Yeah." His brows furrow, like he's annoyed he even has to say it. "Powers can be dangerous if you have no control over them. You should've told me earlier..."
Oh.
Guilt settles in my stomach.
"...Sorry," I say again, softer this time.
Sunghoon exhales, finally setting his sword down. "Yeah, yeah."
A pause.
Then, to my surprise, he tugs me forward by the wrist—just enough that I almost stumble into him.
Before I can react, he leans in and presses a quick, soft kiss against my lips. It's so brief that I barely have time to process it before he pulls away, staring at me like he's waiting for me to say something.
I blink. "What was that for?"
His ears are a little red. "Dunno. Just felt like it."

A/N's POV
The rain pours steadily, drumming against the stone pathways and pooling in the crevices of the garden. The scent of damp earth lingers in the air, thick and familiar.
Isla should have gone inside long ago, but she remains kneeling by the flower beds, carefully brushing droplets off delicate petals. Her clothes are thoroughly soaked, the fabric clinging uncomfortably to her skin, but she barely notices. The cold has long since seeped through, a dull chill settling into her bones, yet she doesn't shiver. Doesn't even think about it.
