-Start of Chapter 131-
A sharp, agonized groan tears through the cavern.
Everyone freezes.
A soldier—one of TXT's men—collapses to the crystal floor, a blade jammed clean through his side. His blood splashes against the glowing blue, staining it a deep, ugly crimson.
"W–What...?" Y/N breathes, staggering back. "I—I thought we killed them all."
Before anyone can answer, the shadows move again.
More cloaked figures lunge out from the deeper parts of the cave—silent, swift, precise.
Swords clash. Crystals crack. The once-still cavern erupts into chaos.
Jungwon, his blade swinging with practiced fury, growls between gritted teeth, "There's too many—how the hell are there this many?! I can only sense about eight of them!"
But there are more.
They move like ghosts—some barely visible, others cloaked in shimmering black. One slashes toward Y/N. She blocks with her dagger, but the blow sends her crashing into a crystal pillar, pain lighting up her spine.
Jake raises his hands, summoning sharp, jagged shards from the crystals. He hurls them at the attackers—some hit, some miss. One assassin crumples, impaled through the chest. Another dodges and charges him with lightning speed.
Sunghoon vanishes from one place and appears behind an assassin in a blink, slicing his throat cleanly before blinking again, this time to shield Y/N from a blade aimed at her neck. "We need to get out—now!"
"I'm not leaving the Heartstone!" Y/N shouts.
Heeseung's sword rises midair, swirling under his telekinesis. It darts like a falcon, slashing through enemy after enemy—but for every one that falls, two more seem to emerge.
Blood splatters against the glowing cave walls.
Blue crystal now runs streaked with red.
Anther soldier screams—his body thrown back, crashing into a wall of jagged stone.
Y/N stares in horror as the crimson Heartstone pulses—unbothered. Distant. As if it's watching.
They're being pushed back.
Step by step, blow by blow—further from the stone.
Further from their hope.
And with every inch lost, the cave glows dimmer.
Their blood paints the floor.
Their hearts pound in terror.
And somewhere deep within...
The Heartstone keeps beating.
Thump.
Thump.
Riki ducks under a blade, his own slicing cleanly through an assassin's stomach.
Blood sprays—he doesn't stop.
Another charges. He turns sharply, jabs a dagger into the enemy's side, and kicks them back.
He's panting, sweat dripping down his jaw.
His eyes flick to the others—Heeseung bleeding from the arm, still fighting; Sunghoon appearing and disappearing like lightning, Y/N holding her ground despite the cuts lining her skin.
Then he freezes.
Jay...?
Where the hell is Jay?
He spins around, eyes scanning, senses flaring. Nothing.
