-Start of Chapter 78-

Something's there...

Within the shadows...

Heavy breathing...

Those predatory eyes...

The soft rustling of dried leaves on the forest floor rises like a whisper, carried by the still night air.

Then I see it.

Within the suffocating darkness, a pair of glowing eyes materializes, golden and unrelenting. Then another. And another. Their hungry gazes pierce through the void, locking onto me.

A low growl ripples through the air, vibrating against my skin, and I step back instinctively. My pulse races, a frantic drumbeat as the wolves emerge, their sleek, deadly forms blending with the black of the forest.

They circle like shadows come to life. Stalking. Calculating.

I try to scream, but my voice falters. I stumble backward as they close in, their growls harmonizing into a menacing symphony.

~~~~~~~
I bolt upright, clutching my chest as if I can physically hold my heart in place. My breath comes in ragged gasps, and I blink into the impenetrable darkness. The camp is silent, the faint crackle of dying embers barely audible over the pounding in my ears.
But I know.
The wolves are close.
I press a hand to my temple, trying to steady the storm in my mind. The vision—it wasn't just a nightmare. It felt real. Too vivid, too precise. The direction of their movement, the rustling leaves, the glint of their eyes—it all lingers in my memory like a cruel imprint.
I can feel it.
They're coming from the west.
I freeze, startled by the clarity of the thought. West. Why does it feel so certain?
I glance toward the forest's edge, where the shadows seem darker than ever. The fire has burned too low to offer comfort, leaving the camp shrouded in black. Doubt creeps in, as cold and unsettling as the night itself.
What if I'm wrong?
A soft rustling pulls my attention. I turn to see Yeonjun sleeping beside me, his figure just barely visible in the dim light. His face is relaxed, his breathing steady.
Should I wake him?...
But I don't.
Instead, my eyes fall to the dagger lying beside me. Its blade catches a faint glint. I pick it up, the cool weight reassuring me as I hold it close.
My heart tells me the wolves are real. My mind insists it was only a dream.
Should I go?
Should I not?
What if there are wolves...
But it was just a nightmare right? I can't be true.
But they always have been proved true
But no one believed me earlier...
