She wonders when she will win,
When the battle is always about beauty
She was never in the top ten
She told herself there's no room for envy,
But the needles and pins in her chest, you haven't seen
They said beauty's on the inside - don't worry.
When you didn't meet the standards, you won't look clean
Even when she thought what matters is kindness and being holy,
When aesthetic appearance is the password, she wouldn't be in
Is that what's necessary?
But physical appearance won't last forever
Believed by her, now in their mocking stares she suffers
But her eyes have never seen something or someone ugly
Imperfect, different, and strange, for her is beauty
They made her believe that flaws are never welcome
They introduced her to the idea that perfection won't make you lonesome
Her eyes were opened, and on the mirror she sees
A girl brimmed with flaws and realized what she just missed
"Oh, what an unpleasant bliss, this I thought is natural -
Turned out to be unacceptable, embarrassing, and dull"
Every time she stumbles upon pretty faces,
She lowers her head like bowing to a princess
Knowing people only love damsels in distress
When they're in the castle, dancing, and in a dress
She's just at home alone, needing a rest
She wanted the beauty of the flowers in the valley,
The charm of the landscape when the sun shines on the sea
She never thought people would only embrace what's dainty
"Pretty privileges," she thought, maybe
"You'll only value me if I'm attractive, which I'll never be"
