Day of the Departed

ALRIGHT HERE WE ARE!!! Cole and (y/n) are the main focus here with some of you-probably-can-guess-who, so I hope you're prepared.

Also the double-extra is almost ready, but because I've spent so much time on it I might use it as a weekly update.

Also I meant to upload this about 11 hours ago, before I went to an amusement park with my friends (I started thinking of Set in Stone when we rode the dang tea cups because of that extra I wrote), but I forgot to so I'm putting this out NOW. Now, enjoy!

The team drove way past the speed limit, thankfully there were no police to catch them in the middle of the sand dunes. Besides they had gotten a special permit from the police chief that allowed them to speed and cut traffic if needed.

Kai rewed his bike's engine, easily speeding to the front of the group. "Move, move, move. We're running out of time. Pick up the pace!" His voice rang into everyone's vehicles.

"Yes, ninja. It's up to us to save the day again." Cole joined in, drifting past rocks and even doing a sick flip off of a slope. Yeah, he did it juts to look cool.

"I'd hardly call this saving the day." (y/n) said from the intercom. He wasn't with the team, but with Sensei Wu.

"Hey, let us have a bit of fun!" Jay, who was riding the Supersonic Raider Jet. Their best vehicle, built by Nya and Zane. 

"Alright, but hurry. Wu and I are almost there." (y/n) gave in, then got off the intercom.

"Roger that." Nya said from her vehicle, then spoke to Zane. "Zane, do you have a read?"

"ETA too late, unless we break all speed limits. Increase velocity." He spoke right before another voice called from the intercom, showing video feed of (y/n) and Wu from in front of the Ninjago City museum.

"Ninja, we have reached the rendezvous point. Where are you?" Wu asked.

"The museum  is still 5 clicks away." Lloyd stated as he glanced at a map. "We're on our way."

"Look out, kids. Jay to save the day!" Jay let out as he raced to the front of the group easily. He called to Lloyd, who was riding bellow him. "Hey, race you there, Lloyd." The Green Ninja sped up without any question.

"I still don't understand how you got the Supersonic Raider Jet." Lloyd huffed.

"Uh, because I called dibs." Jay said it like it was the matter of the fact. "Guy who calls dibs first gets it, right, Cole?" He asked, but didn't get an answer. "Right, Cole? ...Cole?!" He tried calling again, but didn't get an answer.

A worried (y/n) spoke from the intercom. "Jay, what's going on?" (y/n)'s question faded into the background as Jay noticed Cole's vehicle was falling far behind the team, moving like it was slipping on ice. Jay did a U turn and headed back to the Earth ninja. "Let me go get him! He's drifting off again!"

Cole fiddled with the controls. It wasn't everyday this happened, especially while driving, but day after day he had started, fading, that's how I'd say it. No one knew why it happened, but they had guesses.

Cole's hands kept phasing through everything he touched. He knew he'd be fine, a simple car crash wouldn't kill a ghost, but he worried it wouldn't stop here. Not just his hands, but his feet, body, all of it it would fade. That's what he feared.

"No. No. Come back." Cole muttered to himself, no one seemed to be able to hear him anyway. "Come... No!" He just barely managed to get his hands onto the controls without fazing through.

"Cole! Look out!" Jay let out and moved away right before Cole's car would hit the Supersonic Raider Jet's wing.

"Oh, uh, oh." he finally got everything back under control and called out "S-sorry, Jay."
