I've realized I've written a lot of the newer chapters in 3rd person, so I might just change it up after this one. Maybe. Also, this chapter isn't yours, my guy. this one follows Cole and Zane more than (y/n).

In the factory, where ex-elemental masters and other innocent people were forced to work on noodles, fortune cookies and other food items all day, everyone else was gloomy. Except for Cole, of course.

The black ninja, who was not covered in flour anymore, whistled one of his favorite tunes, no one really paying any attention to him. But Karlof, who was right next to him holding a metallic tray, was the only one who couldn't ignore it.

"Why you whistling? Yesterday Cole was sad. Not today. What changed?" Karlof spoke, mainly out of curiosity, but also because Cole wouldn't do his job and pick out fortune cookies to send up to the elemental masters still in the tournament.

"Things are looking up, Karlof. We came here to find a friend, and I found him. All I gotta do now is get Zane and bust him out." Cole beamed as he answered Karlof, also finally continuing to work like he was supposed to.

"Not so easy. Chen's made it nearly impossible to escape this place." Karlof shook his head, looking around the Anacondrai cultist filled factory for a second, before (y/n) finally joined the conversation.

"Unfortunately, you're right. But Cole here just won't believe me." (y/n) sighed as he mopped the floor next to the fortune cookie machine's conveyor belt. He had been doing his job very slowly on purpose, so he could stay near Cole and Karlof.

"It's called being positive," Cole quickly said, "and I'm still working out the details, but Zane's a Nindroid, a walking computer! If I can get to him, he'll solve anything Chen throws at us in no time." He then explained to Karlof, before (y/n) cut in again with:

"...Or so we believe." Cole was hopeful, (y/n) was careful, but they both wanted the same thing, and (y/n) felt bad for ignoring the team, so he just went with whatever Cole said.

"Karlof wished he had friend like that."

"But first order of business, I gotta let the know I'm busting him out!" Cole suddenly pulled out a piece of red paper, and stuck it in between a small crack in a fortune cookie was holding. (y/n) didn't look pleased, but he didn't have a better idea himself, so no can do.

"You put message in cookie?" Karlof questioned as Cole nodded vigorously.

"I know, right? That's why it's called a fortune cookie." He seemed rather excited about the fact. (y/n) could only wonder.

"Well, if you get out, don't forget about Karlof." Karlof spoke as Cole placed the fortune cookie onto the tray, which Karlof then handed to him.

"Yeah, sure. Of course," Cole didn't sound like it, but he meant it. "Special order for the banquet's ready!" He then called out, as an Anacondrai cultist came and took the tray from him without saying a word.

"I hope you have the good fortune for it to end up in the right hands." Karlof once again spoke as (y/n) too stopped mopping and just stood by as all three watched the tray with the fortune cookie get taken away.

"You and me both, Karlof. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get out of here." Cole had just said, when an Anacondrai cultist keeping watch by the door tried to reach for the fortune cookie on top of the pile, which was of course the one with a small paper sticking out of it.

Coles and Karlofs faces both turned tense, but only for a moment, because the cultist carrying the tray swiftly slapped the hand away and walked out of the factory. Cole let out a sigh of relief as (y/n) spoke up.
