Changing a few things for LOOORE reasons, but not too much :3
"This ends now, Samukai!" Jay's animated shout didn't catch anyone's attention. He was playing with a plastic Samukai head, that was until he let out a loud tired groan. "Nope. Pretending this is the actual Samukai doesn't make cleaning up the museum any more interesting. This is so lame! We're ninja, not janitors."
Lloyd, who was just passing by him with a cart carrying Chen's statue, shook his head. "Come on, Jay. We're all kind of responsible for the damage to the museum. After all, if we hadn't had that massive battle on the Day of the Departed, this place would still be in one piece."
Lloyd explained. What the others had pushed aside at the time was that while the ninja got chased by different villains, a certain brown ninja had managed to get half of the museum into shambles just by trying to protect his nogging from Kozu and the stone warriors.
Jay huffed. "Yeah, and whose fault is that, Cole?" Jay called as he turned to face the opposite corner of the storage room.
the no-longer-a-ghost Black ninja, holding a portrait of Yang he was holding and shot Jay a soft glare.
"Okay! How many more times do I have to say 'I'm sorry for accidentally unleashing the ghostly forces of evil that attacked Ninjago'?" He groaned, placing the portrait on a pile of other museum curios in a wheelbarrow next to him.
"How high can you count?" Jas asked, stuffing the Samukai head into a wooden box. Cole rolled his eyes and turned back around, placing his hands on the handles of the wheelbarrow. But when his hands began to glow, he hastily let go.
hearing the wheelbarrow clatter on the floor, Jay turned to look at him, this time his face was more neutral and curious.
"Eh, speaking of which, you're still not used to having your old, non-ghost hands back?" he asked Cole as he picked up the wooden box and headed towards the display hall next door.
Cole waited until his hands turned back to normal, then started picking up the scattered stuff from the floor back into the wheelbarrow. "Oh, I'm working on it!" He called to Jay, cursing himself and his stupid hands for never working right when they're supposed to.
With the wheelbarrow full, Cole caught up with Jay in the hall where the rest of the team were helping clean the place up.
"This is exhausting!" Nya let out as she plopped down on a box she had just been carrying. "If I could go back in time, I'd tell Dr. Saunders we were too busy to help."
Zane, dragging a different statue on a cart, paused and called to her. "Nya, you may recall that the rest of us once time-traveled. It can have devastating effects, and should not be used lightly. Certainly not to get out of labor-"
He was cut off when (y/n) appeared next to him, a broom in hand, and nudged his side gently. "She didn't literally mean it." He started. "Let her complain, as long as we get the job done. I did think this was a ridiculous job at first but Dr. Saunders gave us half of our pay before hand."
On the word 'pay' (y/n) face lit up unusually much. "If we finish this job, I don't think I'll have to ever work again! Oh, was there something else Dr. Saunders requested us to do? I- I should ask him. I'll be right back!" He called, then practically skipped away to sweep the storage room.
Cole waved after him with a look that could be compared to a shy teen admiring their crush, until Jay popped up behind him with a grin.
"So, you gonna tell 'em now?" Cole whipped to him and let out a shout, "Jay!"
"Tell us what?" Lloyd asked, pausing his work as Cole paled and he glared at Jay as if he had blown his cover. Zane stood close to Lloyd rambling about 'yes, I too would be intrigued to hear' or something along those lines until Cole let out a groan.
