Sorry, I've never really liked this particular episode, so it took a while to get it written in a way that satisfied me.
The rays of sunlight had lingered in the room for a while, but had stayed away from (y/n)'s eyes, almost as if the sun itself hadn't wanted to wake the boy up.
But now the sunlight from the window shifted directly onto the corner of (y/n)'s eye, making him stir and begrudgingly cover his eyes, still half asleep.
He squinted and forced himself up into a sitting position, feeling his eyes sting. He probably looked awful, after crying last night like a baby.
"From what I've seen, that's the first time you've slept in." Cole's voice made (y/n) jump. No, (y/n) hadn't forgotten the other boy was there, he just hadn't expected himself to wake up after the master of earth.
"I was just tired." (y/n) spoke as he turned to Cole. The ghost was leaning on his face, pretty close to where (y/n) had been laying down. (y/n) didn't need to ask to know Cole had probably been waiting for him to wake up in that same pose for a while now.
"'Just tired' is an understatement." The master of earth said, as he too sat up on the bed. (y/n) gave Cole a smile, before he lightly rubbed his hand over his eyes and sat up.
He walked over to a mirror, looked himself up and down while talking to Cole. "How long have you been awake then?"
"Umm, a while..." Cole was hesitant to answer. He jumped up and walked behind (y/n) and leaned on the wall as (y/n) combed through his hair a few times.
"Cole," (y/n) gave Cole a serious look through the mirror. "How long were you awake?"
"...Three hours." What Cole received as an answer afterwards was a sigh.
"Why? Is staring at me better than getting a enough sleep?" (y/n) tried to sound mad, giving Cole a light glare, but the black ninja brushed it off with a laugh.
"Yeah, it's a lot better." (y/n) tried to ignore the joke, but he couldn't stop his face from heating up. "But either way, I don't think ghosts need that much sleep, at least I didn't feel sleepy. But I didn't want to leave or wake you up either. I didn't expect you to sleep till noon."
(y/n) visibly stopped. "Noon?" He questioned.
"Um, yeah?" As Cole lifted an eyebrow at (y/n), the (f/c) ninja whipped around and rushed to the door of the room and called to Cole.
"Then it's time to go. The others are definitely waiting for us." He let out as Cole hurried after (y/n), closing the room door behind them before the two made their way to the deck, and from there into the backyard of Steep Wisdom.
"Good morning, Nya." (y/n) greeted as he spotted Nya standing by the lake behind the tea shop. Ronin was nearby as well, but the man didn't seem interested in morning greetings. At least he was there. (y/n) was somewhat glad Nya had someone other than the ninja, Wu and Misako to spend time with.
The future water ninja stopped, seeming to have snapped out of concentration, before turning and giving (y/n) a wave. She smiled, though she was visibly pissed. Her training must not have being going too well.
Cole gave Nya a wave as well, before the two boys walked into the tea shop from the back door.
They saw Misako and Wu brainstorming, trying to figure out the third clue. (y/n) gave the two a bow when they noticed him and Cole, but didn't stay to bother them.
"I guess we haven't missed anything." Cole spoke quietly as (y/n) agreed with him with a simple nod, before they walked towards the front doors of the tea shop.
