Yeah, if you haven't figured it out yet, I'm having a bit of trouble fixing the timeline, BUT! It's not my fault, I realized with joys! Turns out, with Ninjago logic, if the Serpentine Wars were forty years ago like the show states, and Kai and Nya were already born at the time, they are over forty in Hands of Time... So when I shortened to time span, it kind of fixed things? No the timeline doesn't make sense even after I tried to fix it, but now I don't feel as bad about it!

The idea Cole had on the Day of the Departed had stuck, and the ninja had indeed moved to the Temple of Airjitzu to live and train in a peaceful place. Though they had only started the process, some rooms already looked like the were suitable to live in.

Instead of sipping his tea like a normal person, Wu drank it in gulps like he was in a hurry. And because of that, it was no wonder he soon asked for seconds.

"Another cup please, Misako." Wu spoke as he handed the tea cup to Misako, who was sitting on a stool beside him. Wu himself was in a soft cushioned seat that had two a bit oversized armrests.

Misako gave Wu a smile that showed she was holding back a laugh. "Okay, but drink it slower this time." She said as he refilled Wu's cup. Healing Tea doesn't work on a burnt tongue."

But when she handed the cup back, Wu was already downing it just like before. Hastily but gently Misako placed her hand on top of Wu's lowering his hand. "Sip! You are quite impatient."

Wu gave her a tired smile, before turning to face forward. "The same could be said of them."

Misako turned to glance forward too, where an anxious row of ninja were waiting for Wu to give them some answers.

"Okay, Master Wu, you've had your tea. Now can we talk?" Cole was the first to talk.

Wu sipped his tea, finally, and nodded. "Ask any question you wish." Unfortunately he had kept the ninja waiting for too long.

"Who did we fight in the Monastery?"
"That was Acronix."
"From the painting?"
"But twins look alike!"
"Identical twins, not all twins."
"Or was it Krux?"
"Is he from the future?"
"How does he speed up time like that?"
"Was he from the past?!" The barrage of questions that seemed to clearly overwhelm their Sensei stopped when Jay held out an empty plastic cup.

"Who ate my pudding cup?!" The others turned to stare at him. "What? He said ask any question. I put my name on this. Just because we're in a new dojo doesn't mean we disobey the refrigerator rules!"

The others kept staring at him. "Bad time, Jay." (y/n) whispered into his ear, and Jay dropped his glare. "Right. Sorry. Guy in monastery. What's his story?" Jay finally asked the most coherent question of the bunch as Wu sighed.

"Well, to answer that, I must begin at the end. It was twenty years ago, shortly after the Serpentine wars. When I was a slightly younger man. As you know, we fought valiantly, but our enemies were strong, and our powers alone were not enough. It was the discovery of the magic flutes that allowed us to finally defeat the Anacondrai. Their leaders were banished. And peace was returned to Ninjago. But among our ranks fought many elemental Masters, two of which were Acronix and Krux, Master's of their shared element."

"Hold on a sec." Cole paused the story. "So that guy at the monastery is an actual Elemental Master of Time?"

"No. Acronix was an Elemental Master of Time, like his brother, Krux." Wu added, then took a sip of his tea. "After helping us win our hard-fought peace, they betrayed me, Garmadon, and the others. The so-called Hands of Time felt they controlled the most powerful Element, therefore entitling them to rule all of Ninjago."

"What did you do?" Nya asked, eyes wide and attentive like a kid listening to a bedtime story.

"We had to stop them. And it would take all of us. Garmadon, myself, and every Elemental Master. There were very few who weren't there."
