The Ninjago timeline is a bit fucked up, and this fic only made it worse. So if one or two things in the timeline don't add up, don't question it. Also, please read the authors note at the end of the chapter!

I'd like to also add that when I say I update once a week, the week in question starts from Monday. I know the week starts from Sunday in some countries, but that isn't the case in my own country.

(y/n) stared out the left side window of the noodle truck. The only thing around was sand, sand, more sand, and the old and abandoned Anacondrai tomb.

After noticing their transceivers connections were cut like a thread, they switched up to try to get back in touch using the radio inside the truck.

Kai eventually found a way to get back to the right airwave, but even then the most the two ninja could hear was bits and pieces of whatever Nya was trying to say.

"Chen has- kai Village... Everyone-" Kai slapped the radio, not too hard to break it, but just enough to maybe get a better connection. Although that wasn't even close to how radio's worked, (y/n) let it slide.

"I can't read you, Nya. Repeat." Kai said as (y/n) moved away from the window, and instead leaning over to try to adjust the position of the radio.

"Attacked first... Nothing -Stop them! Hurry... too late!" But the two ninja could hardly hear any better at all.

"Well this is just great!" Kai threw his hands in the air before slumping into the driver's seat with a huff.

"No idea what's going on, no idea what to do next, and no idea if we have or have not lost the war!" He grumbled as (y/n) just sat quietly. He wasn't sure what to do either. And the voice was distracting him, so he had to concentrate just to hear Kai's voice.

Even he was getting irritated. But two irritated ninja was the last thing they needed in this situation. (y/n) took a deep breath before opening the car windows. Fresh air was always the first step to calming down.

"Start the truck, Kai. We need to go." (y/n) spoke with his usual tone, although it did still have an undertone of annoyance. Kai didn't listen to him though.

"Go where? We have no idea where to go either!" He exclaimed, turning to (y/n) but not even touching the key of the truck.

"For a drive. We can talk once we've both cooled off. And it would be better if we met up with someone on the way." Kai wanted to object, but knew (y/n) was right, and instead finally started the truck. (y/n) let Kai drive to any direction he wanted as silence fell upon them.

(y/n) kept an eye on Kai, and watched as Kai gradually calmed down. First his glare dropped, then his fingers relaxed and lastly he pressed on the gas a bit less than before. Then something from before suddenly popped into (y/n)'s head, and he spoke up.

"Is now a good time to ask about that thing back on the island? You wanted to ask me something." Kai stiffened a bit, but relaxed soon enough again. He glanced out the window, thinking about it, before ultimately turning back forward and sighing.

"Yeah, I didn't know who to ask. How much do you know about the Serpentine wars?" (y/n) didn't answer Kai's question right away though.

"You asked the wrong person Kai. Sensei Wu and Sensei Garmadon know much more than I-" (y/n) was explaining when Kai suddenly cut him off and raised his voice.

"I can't ask them!" Kai gave a glance to (y/n) through the rear-view mirror, but noticing (y/n) didn't seem bothered even though he was cut off, Kai continued with a bit quieter tone.

"...Chen told me that my parents held some 'dark secrets'. I couldn't possibly tell that to Sensei. And you know how Sensei is, even if he knew something, he might not tell me." (y/n) hated to admit it, but Kai was actually right. Sensei had a bad habit of keeping everything he could to himself.
