Extra #14 The Way Things Could Have Been

Fuck it, I'm posting this now and regretting it later.

Hello hello!!!! This is actually a double extra, with two different things. There'll be another authors note before the second one, don't worry. The way the title fits both oneshots is keeping me alive.

This first extra is brought to you by yours truly (writing) and the one, the only, ZOORROOOO (idea). I appreciate it so much I'm so thankful I was allowed to write and post this here! Now, what is this even about? The main idea is: Morro and (y/n) grew up together during (y/n)'s time. So, Morro and (y/n) are the same age, and everything with Morro's lore is changed, basically. I hope that explanation makes sense. Imma just get to it.

"You started it!"
"Morro!! Ouch, stop!"
"Nu uh!"
"Sensei! SENSEI!!!"
"Hey! That's not fair, you-!"

"What is all this ruckus?" Wu asked, voice concerned as he reached the monastery yard. The first thing he saw was a foot pressed on Morro's face, and a hand pulling his ear. (y/n) meanwhile had a hand tugging his hair and a clear set of teeth marks on his free hand.

"Children..." Wu warned, and immediately the two kids got off each other, rubbing wounds and forming bruises on them.

"It was (y/n)! He pushed me!" Morro  let out and pointed at (y/n), who frowned.

"Because you were being mean!" (y/n) shot back before Wu cleared his throat, and (y/n) quiet down.

"Not even five minutes after my students left and you're already fighting again..." Wu sighed. "One at a time, what happened this time?"

Morro started by scowling at (y/n). "We were playing, when he pushed me over. I asked what his problem was and he hit me! When I tried to get back at him and..." The fight broke out, he didn't say, but Wu understood.

"Is this what happened?" Wu asked (y/n) stomped his foot on the ground.

"You don't get it! He was pretending to be one of Garmadon's minions. He tried to hit me with his sword! I told him I didn't like it and told him to stop but he didn't. When he got too close I pushed him back and he fell. He got angry and ran at me. I got scared and..." Punched him, Wu understood again.

"It was just a game!" Morro let out, but Wu raised a hand to silence him.

"Morro. When (y/n) says he doesn't like your game, it is a sign you should play something else." Wu stated. "A real ninja doesn't hurt others for fun."

Morro looked like he wanted to defend himself, but couldn't.

"And (y/n)," Wu continued, (y/n) tensed. "No matter who started it, fighting is never the best solution. Now, children. Is there anything you have to say to each other?"

Wu asked, gently turning the kids to face each other.

"Sorry... for hitting you." (y/n) muttered, but he seemed to really mean it.

Morro muttered quietly as well. "I was just playing... I didn't mean to scare you. Sorry, I guess."

"...For today, there'll be no punishment, but that means I expect you to now understand the heart of the matter."

Wu smiled at the children, who looked a bit tense. "Well, it's getting late." Even the kids finally snapped back to the moment. "But if you still want to play, I can give you some time."

(y/n) looked between Morro and Wu, he seemed unsure. Morro however moved to whisper something in (y/n)'s ear.

"One round of ninja versus master?" It was their favorite game. (y/n) couldn't refuse. He nodded, then took Morro's hand and ran inside, and Wu was left smiling in the yard.
