So, I was wrong, no pirate action in this chapter :( I know, super sad. I wanted to speak pirate slang again too, but apparently I have to wait a bit longer. In the mean time, here's some Ronin action!
(y/n), who was stuck hiding behind a pillar right by the police station, watched silently as cameras flashed and reporters pushed each other in an effort to all fit to stand close to the police commissioner.
"Any more questions?" The mustached commissioner had just finished giving out his formal statement on the ninja, but unfortunately the man was still allowing the reporters to surround him with questions.
"How do you find a ninja?" One reporter asked.
The commissioner's eye twitched lightly as he spoke up. "Skill and luck. Our public enemy number one is no easy target, especially since they have seemed to split up. But the best an ordinary citizen can do is inform the police, facing the ninja head on could be dangerous." (y/n) wondered what kind of offense the team had done to the First Spinjitzu Master to deserve this...
Another reporter showed her mic uncomfortably close to the commissioners face. "Did fame turn them? If they're really that dangerous, will the police be able to really catch them?"
The mustached man firmly pushed the mic slightly away before speaking up. "We've taken their ship as well as secured their known hideouts. They will be caught and pay for their crime spree. I bet my reelection on it."
It seems the commissioner seemed to finally be done with his speech, as he signaled to the reporters and cameramen that he was done with a simple wave. But the people around him just pushed closer instead of backing away.
(y/n) took the moment and ran away from the scene, and thankfully no one noticed him.
"Are the damages from the ninjas rampage covered by insurance?"
"Do you have any leads?"
"Can you tell us what's being done to find them?" The reporters meanwhile spilled question after question at the commissioner, not seeming to care that the interview session was over.
The police commissioner wiped away a nervous bead of sweat from his face, then backed away from the reporter crew. "No- No more questions."
"That is all." The commissioner spoke one last time, before fleeing inside the police station, shutting the door behind him, leaving the crew to shout questions and bang on the door from the outside.
Once the man knew he was safe from the press, he let out a sigh of relief, only for a thief currently reading some article in a newspaper to speak up.
"Looks like you don't have an eye for this sort of work." The commissioner, though begrudgingly, turning his attention to the man sitting comfortably on one of the cushioned seats set up right next to the wall. "You're never gonna catch them, Commish. If you wanna catch a ninja, you have to know a ninja."
"You're no better than the crooks you catch. I'll find them. I've already got that bookworm, Misako, in custody." The commissioner shot back at Ronin, who had already set a mocking smirk on his face.
"But what about the Sensei?" Ronin asked, folding the news paper carelessly and tossing it like a basketball straight into the trash can on the other side of the room.
"Wu? Oh, he was last seen entering the Library of Domu, but no one saw him come out. Those-Those ninja. They get all that power then use it to do what? Rob the only place that loved them. Spoiled brats!" As the commissioner muttered to himself totally missing the way Ronin rolled his eyes at him.
Even if Ronin was the commissioners least favorite person, hands down, he had to admit that once again, the thief was right.
"So, uh, you sure you can bring them to justice?" The commissioner finally asked, clearing his throat and straightening his posture.
