Shocker had spent forty minutes explaining the plan.
Speed Demon ignored thirty-eight of them.
He vanished through the doors of the Central Exchange before Shocker finished counting down, leaving a trail of loose paper and spinning security guards behind him.
Shocker lowered his raised hand.
"I said on three."
Boomerang had already stopped listening.
The argument ended when Beetle dropped from the sky.
Her purple armour struck the pavement hard enough to crack it. Mechanical wings folded against her back while smoke rose from the Exchange roof.
"The alarm is disabled," she said. "Local systems are blind for four minutes."
Shocker gave Boomerang a pointed look. Boomerang ignored that too.
A stolen delivery van waited at the edge of the road. Overdrive had both hands pressed against its bonnet. Red energy moved across the vehicle, replacing plain metal with black armour. The tyres widened. The engine grew louder while reinforced plates covered the windows.
Shocker had already repeated the goal several times. They would empty the Exchange, buy better equipment and build a proper base. Once they were rich enough to stop robbing places in a stolen delivery van, they could turn their attention towards Spider-Man.
The others were more interested in surviving the afternoon.
An explosion shook the Exchange.
Speed Demon reappeared in the entrance carrying six bags of money. The vault was still locked. He had simply stolen everything that was not.
Police sirens began sounding several streets away.
Shocker pulled his mask down.
"Then we make an impression."
He brought both gauntlets together.
Vibrations gathered between them.
The blast tore through the front of the Central Exchange.
Glass and concrete exploded across the road. The security shutters protecting the lower vault buckled inward, while the pavement split beneath Shocker's boots.
People ran from the surrounding buildings.
Boomerang watched a traffic light fall onto a parked car and decided not to ask which part of the plan covered that.
Shocker marched through the smoke.
"You're welcome."
Genius Office reached the Central Exchange first.
It had once been expected.
Best Jeanist's agency had been one of the most dependable in Musutafu. When a major villain appeared, civilians looked for denim crossing the rooftops and knew one of Japan's greatest heroes had arrived.
Best Jeanist had not been seen since his injury.
His sidekicks still answered every call.
They simply did so without him.
Hemline landed beside the broken entrance with silver thread running from her fingertips. Four other members of Genius Office spread around the street, directing civilians towards the police barriers.
She saw Shocker inside the vault.
He stood beside Speed Demon while Overdrive loaded stolen support equipment into the transformed van. Beetle watched from the air. Boomerang waited on the roof of a bus with three weapons already in his hands.
