The first thing I saw was a hand wrapped around my wrist.

I tore my arm away.

The monitor beside the bed screamed as several wires came loose. Pain shot through my shoulder and forced me back against the mattress.

There was no hand.

Only bandages.

They covered the wrist where my web-shooter had been crushed. Beneath them, dark bruises circled my skin like fingerprints.

I could still feel them tightening.

"Easy."

Recovery Girl hurried towards me and returned the monitor to its stand.

"You have already dislocated that shoulder once. I would prefer not to repair it again."

I looked around the infirmary.

Curtains separated the nearby beds. Someone moved behind one of them, but I couldn't see who.

"Jiro and Kaminari?"

"Safe."

"Bakugo?"

"Also safe."

"Class 1-B?"

"Cuts, bruises and one concussion. Nothing permanent."

I swallowed.

"Vlad King?"

Recovery Girl paused before answering.

"Two fractured ribs and a concussion. He will recover."

I pushed myself upright again.

"He was thrown through a building."

"You are not responsible for repairing everyone from your hospital bed."

"That doesn't change what happened."

"No," Aizawa said from the doorway. "It doesn't."

A bandage covered part of his forehead. His capture weapon hung around his shoulders with one end torn almost completely through.

Recovery Girl pointed towards the chair beside my bed.

"If you're going to question him, sit down. You look almost as bad as he does."

Aizawa sat.

Recovery Girl checked the monitor one last time before leaving us alone.

"How much do you remember?" he asked.

"All of it."

"The energy?"

"The red power."

His eyes narrowed slightly.

"You have a name for it?"

"Not really. That's just what it looks like."

"You've seen it before."

It wasn't a question.

I looked down at my bandaged wrist.

"A few times."

Aizawa's expression hardened.

"How many?"

"I don't know. It only happens when I'm in danger. Usually when I'm hurt or cornered."

"And you failed to mention this during your Quirk assessment."

"It never did anything like this."

"That isn't an answer."
