15 Discovering Secret Plans

TIME SKIP : NEXT DAY, AFTER SCHOOL

Kaito's POV

There I sat, in a tree hidden from view with binoculars, feeling like a total stalker. I wasn't wearing my normal white KID suit, but instead some black and green clothes to blend in, along with someone else's face. I've never been a fan of ski masks and that junk... Little Tantei-kun was playing soccer with his friends in a empty field at the park.

It kind of seamed weird... every time he swung back his leg to kick, I half expected one of his hell-balls to go flying across the field into the goal. But of course, he's playing with his friends, so it would only be a gentle pass to his teammate or something. I wish he did that to me... I thought back to the countless times Jii would bandage me up after one of our encounters. He really can be demonic when he wants to!!

Ok, KID, focus. Your not here to do anything but find a good time to slip Tantei-kun a note when the other kids aren't looking. That way I can meet him later in secret and we can talk... hopefully.

Just then, the ball came flying and nearly hit me. OH NO, HAD HE SPOTTED ME?! I began to slightly panic. That was too close for comfort!! And if he has, he's about to come get the ball from in the bushes under me and-!

"Nice kick, Genta! But next time, aim for the goal, will you?" Exclaimed the girl.

"Sorry Ayumi..." Genta replied.

"It's fine Genta. It was really powerful though!" That was Ayumi.

And then Tantei-kun : "Yah, good job! I'll go get it."

Genta again : "Ok, thanks! Hurry back so we can start again!"

Oh good, it wasn't him. Just coincidence. And now that he's coming over, even if he does spot me I can tell him a place to meet up later and my job here is done. That worked out well!

I put the binoculars down and placed my monocle over my random mask, so he could recognize me a bit better. I mean, how many other people always where a monocle? Makes it kind of hard not to think it's me!!

Tantei-kun was almost to my tree, when Akako's voice spoke up from somewhere in the ally way across the street. Wait - Akako?! what is she doing here?!

"I often find you watching him... Is he important to you in someway?" Who...? What.....?

Before I could answer, another person spoke up. This was one who I didn't recognize. It was definitely female and sounded like a young adult. Early teens maybe? "You could say that..."

"I scene pity... and fear... say, isn't he the one my crystal ball recommended before you for...?" Why would Akako need Tantei-kun's help?

"Yah... He's... in a situation."

"What kind? you never told me -"

" - KID's 'fate' that we are trying to prevent... He was the first victim." My fate? What do I have to do with this?

"Wait, so he's - !?"

"Yes. True identity in Shinichi Kudo." I KNEW IT!! I WAS RIGHT!! Wait, that would mean I'm going to get shrunk too...! What?!?!

"And what do you mean by 'first victim'?" There's MORE?!

"This isn't your show so don't worry about it. Well... maybe it is... I've had spoilers that you appear in it at some time... I don't know. Forget it." Show? Spoilers? What...??

I heard footprints indicating them walking away. The last thing I heard as they walked away was "Can we run thru the plan one last time? Tomorrow night is the dead line and I'm getting a bit more nervous with every minute..."

"Sure, but don't worry, we wont fail. We can't." Is anyone else completely lost right now...?

I was so wrapped up in their talking I hadn't noticed Tantei-kun was now leaving the bushes, ball in hand. Now or never! I was about to quietly lowered myself to ground level when I spotted someone else. Same ally way as Akako and the girl.

The person was in a black shirt and skirt, walkie-talkie in one hand. She was too short to be an adult, and kind-of chubby too. Her hair was in a tight bun of dirty red hair and bellow that was a face with a light bridge of freckles. Her lips were curved into some kind of evil smirk, as she examined a gem and muffled something into the mini radio. That gem... that's...!!  HOW-?!

Baffled, I tried to listen in on her conversation. The only words I could make out were "Snake" "Gin" and "Pandora". She turned her back to me and began walking. The way towards the other two girls. Anything but hesitant, I began to follow. Sorry Tantei-kun, I've got to go!

Things are about to get really interesting... Ki Ki Ki!!
