SOPHIE'S POV

"WHAT?!?! YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!!"

"You yell a lot. Do you think you could stop it?" He grinned a tiny bit. You think this is funny, KID?! You enjoy seeing people break their neck?! Even I'm not insane enough to jump out of a vent this high!!

"Do you want me to die?! Because jumping from here will do that!"

"Do you want to die?! Because staying up there will do that!"

I considered my options. Do I trust KID enough to catch me? Well, I don't have many other options... I looked down again. KID was still standing there with his outstretched arms, waiting for me to take my leap of faith. Slowly, I slid my way to the edge. Don't think. Just jump. He will catch you. Calm down. 3...2...1...

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Next thing I knew, I was in KID's arms, hugging the life out of him. "I will never do that again. EVER."

"Ok... you don't have to... just let go... I can't... air..."

He gasped for his breath as I stepped onto the ground. The safe, stable, ground. "Sorry again... "

"It's fine... Just stop trying to kill me..."

"Ok... But I can't promise anything... I'm not good at controlling my emotions."

"I can tell."

"Can we go now? Gin and Vodka will find us if we stay here." I started walking into the trees. "Akako's house is nearby. We can regroup there."

KID stopped me. "No, we can't."

"Why not?"

"Have you forgotten already?"

"umm... wait, don't tell me... I have the memory of a goldfish... OH RIGHT!! You wanted to tell me something!! About... Akako..." Her name almost became a whisper as I remembered. "Is... is Akako evil?"

"Isn't that the point of being a witch?" We both slightly chuckled at that, but the atmosphere quickly became serious once more. "The thing I was trying to tell you - Akako is working with the Black Organization."

All was silent, for a long time. It was hard for me to believe that... When I first got here, Akako was cold towards me because "You are here for one reason, and one reason only. You are a tool to help me beat Them." At least, that was what she told me. But as days became weeks and weeks became months, she warmed up to me. She became that older sister I never had. We got attached to each other, and began to have fun with the mission. But when today came closer, she gave me the cold shoulder again. I still thought of her as my older sister, but... would she stoop that low?

"So then where do we go?"

"The city is our best bet."

"Ok, this way then..." I changed direction, my back to Akako's house - MY house. We pressed forward.
