Chapter Fourty-Nine

The last time she reached out to me was a day after Dan spoke to her.
But I didn't answer the call back then, I just couldn't talk to her.
Since then, I gained a lot more confidence considering what happened, so I picked up this time.
"What do you want?".
"Hey, um- congratulations for making it official."
"Thanks, that's everything?"
I can see Dan rolling his eyes in the back.
"No", she sighs before continuing, "I want to say that I'm sorry.
Louise and I totally forgot to mention that it was a prank and we took that part out of the video too. I'm sorry I forgot and I'm sorry I thought it was okay. Because it wasn't and I realised that way too late.
You are my best friend Y/N, I feel so incredibly sorry thar I hurt you, I never intended to."
After she finishes talking, I begin: "Listen, Zoe, I get it. I get that you are sorry and I'm happy you finally see that what you did was dumb. I thought you died or got hurt. But you know, after all you are my best friend and everyone makes mistakes. Thank you for apologizing and I'm sorry that I kind of overreacted. We are both a bit stupid fighting over this."
She sighs in relieve: "Hallelujah, I'm so glad this hell is over. It's the only thing I've been thinking about.", she pauses before continuing "Can you give me Dan?".
"Yeah", I say and give him the phone.
He looks at me in confusion, but takes the phone. "Hello?".

Thankfully, Dan and Zoe made up too. I can tell Dan wasn't over it 100 %, but at least he accepts her apology.

I also got a message from Joe who I haven't talked to a lot recently.

Joe: Good luck to Dan and you.

That's all he wrote. Well I obviously can't complain but he normally texts with a lot of hearts. I'm sure it's nothing so I quickly reply to him.

Dan and I spent the rest of the night laying in bed and watching Game of Thrones.
"Babe, I have to go to Australia soon for our tour."
"I know", I sigh, "I wish I could come with you."
"Why can't you?", he says and turns to me.
"I feel like it's Phil and yours thing, and I'm ruining it. Also, I still have work, my boss wasn't too impressed because of these holidays, how will she let me go to Oz?"
"You're not ruining it, silly, you're making it better. But you're right...", he pouts, "I'll miss you. A lot."
"Me too.", I say and kiss him.
