DAN'S P.O.V:

Right after she closed the door I go to both of her parent's, especially having her dad in mind, and ask what I wanted to ask for so long.

I've been plannig on how for a couple of months and replayed different, good and bad, scenarios in my head.

In the end, all of my plans got cut, because as I said what I wanted to say, more thoughts popped into my head and I had to say even more.

But right when I asked, my fear disappeared.

They were happy, they got exited, they wished luck and they gave us their blessings.

Y/N'S P.O.V:

So. Many. Options.

Who knew there can be so many different sorts of wrapping paper?

After a struggle, I finally pick some, including one covered in Shiba's, that I know Dan will enjoy.

With the paper in one hand and some sweets in the other, I make my way back home.

It is really cold, so wearing Dan's big sweater makes me feel protected and warm.

Just as I am about to cross the road, my phone rings and I pick it up without looking at who it is.

"Hey, love! How are you?", Zoe's familiar voice calls.

"Aw, hey Zo! Pretty good, you?"

"Alright. I am sorry about what happened with Dan."

"What? Oh the radio show? Yea, that was a bit dumb of us."

"No I don't mean that, love."

"What?". Is there something I don't know about?

"You know, the amounts of hate he got."

"No I don't, what happened?"

She sighs: "People think your relationship is staged and you do it just for publicity."

"Excuse me? Why would anyone think that?", I say1, sitting down on a cold bench.

"Some say it's because you keep it so private. They think there isn't anything to announce and that's why you both don't do it. And also, they think what happened in the radio show, was all for publicity."

"What the... Only because we want to keep it private? That doesn't make any sense."

"And because they think you used him to get this far.", she now says quietly.

"This is fucked up. I am sorry, but I have to go."

I hang up, pick up the stuff I dropped mid-phonecall and practically storm home.

When I arrive, everyone is in separate rooms, working, so I go right into my old bedroom, knowing Dan would be there.

I open the door dramatically, making Dan jump and immediately close his laptop.

"Oh, h- hey. Everything alright?", he stutters.

"No. Nothing is 'alright'. Why didn't you tell me about the hate you and I were getting?"

His mouth drops: "Oh shit. I just didn't want you to get upset about it."

"It makes me more upset that you can't talk to me, you know that right?"

Dan sighs and makes room next to him, gesturing me to sit down.

And after I do, he hugs me tightly: "I just didn't want you to see what they were saying."

"I get it, but you can't just act like everything is alright when you're upset."

"I'm sorry, I'll talk to you next time."

"No, not next time. Now.", I demand.

"Babe, I really don't want to to resay everything they said."

"Let me read it myself then.", I say and go to grab his laptop, which isn't anything unusual since I often use his Netflix account or write blog posts on there, but he quickly rips it out of my hand as if he is hiding something.
