Marriage is something Dan and I have talked about a lot recently.

He told me that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me multiple times and I feel the exact way, knowing Dan is the one even though we've know each other for roughly a year.

But it isn't something that will happen in the very near future, we both agreed, since I am going away soon and we are both too busy to even think about planning a whole wedding.

After he tells me about the ring, I just laugh it off, knowing we is only kidding. Somewhat kidding.

We quickly pack together our stuff and head to the airport at 4 am, so we can be back in England in time for Christmas morning.

At 8 am, we arrive at Dan's old family home that stands there in a quiet little town with the cold air shaking the tree's around it.

Surprisingly, his parents are already awake and greet us at the door.

Both of them are absolutely amazing people, Dan being a perfect mixture of both of them.

They show me around the house and even say that they hung up a stocking for me, which makes me feel incredibly welcome.

Dan and I quietly go up to his old room since his younger brother is still sleeping.

"I'm sorry about my parents.", he laughs.

"What do you mean? They are so nice."

"I guess, they're just a bit overwhelming at times."

I shrug it off and lay down on his bed, investigating the posters on his wall. His taste in music remained the same, thankfully.

"What are people saying about what you posted yesterday?", he randomly asks and reminds me of the picture I posted on Instagram at around 3 am.

It of a polaroid of Dan caring me bridal style while we are both wearing our Totoro onesies, laughing hysterically with 'this was an accident' as the caption, mocking the fact that we both bought the missing one in the others collection.

"Mostly freaking out, but nice over all.", I say in relieve.

Dan lays down next to me and pulls me onto him, pecking my head: "See, I told you they'll get over it."

I smile and look at my tagged pictures, just to see a sea of the same picture I posted with some really lovely captions to them.

At around midday, we are all sitting in the livingroom, talking and chatting about the line.

"That's so great! How long will you be in New York?", his mother asks.

"Right now, a month is planned but I'm hoping I'll be able to come home sooner."

"Yes, that would be perfect. Poor Dan, he's going to be so ups-"

"Mom!", Dan cuts her off, resulting in both of us laughing.

I know how upset Dan will be, especially since last time we were apart for a month, things didn't go too well.

We promised to talk everyday, he even offered to stay up past his time, so it would be more convenient for me to talk to him.

But for now, he just trys to enjoy the time we have left with his family.

Speaking of family, his younger brother finally joins us when it is time to exchange presents.

Over the day, I got to know him more and he is exactly how Dan describes him: Sarcastic, intelligent, humorous and kind. Just like Dan, but a more 'teenaged' version of him, a little more rebellious, if I say so.

We spend the time after the rest of his family leaves after the Christmas dinner talking and getting to know eachother better until Phil calls us via Skype.

"Merry Christmas, Philly!", we both shout in union after picking up.

But all we receive in response is a weak smile: "I have bad news."
