I stare outside of this coffee shop as the dried leaves fall from the trees. I can't comprehend. Not really.

"So anong nang-yari?"

"It was so hard for me. It was unbelievable. Like omg! My father is the CEO of the company where I am working?! Seryoso? Shemay! Sino hindi makakapaniwala nun diba?"

It's been long years after the truth was revealed.

"Eh anong nangyari sayo at sa kinalakihan mong pamilya?" Cassey asked.

"I have forgiven them. It's been 4 years or 5? Time healed me. And I just need time way back for it all. After all, utang ko sa kanila ang buhay ko. They could've killed me or let me die as my mother died after giving birth of me but they chose to take me as their own daughter. Ang nakakapag-sama lang ng loob ko ay hindi nila sinabi ang katotohanan at wala man lang silang plano na sabihin sa akin."

"E anong nangyari sayo at sa tunay mong ama?" si Sab naman ang nag-tanong.

"E yun nga..nahirapan ako. I really have to adjust. I have to move to his house where his new family are living. And I was like, karapat-dapat ba ako sa pamamahay na ito? Parang ako lang ang naiiba roon eh. Pero buti nalang at mabait yung napangasawa ni Daddy. Though she has this bitch side but I can handle. Si Tofer naman mabait din. He was so happy back then when he knew he have a sister.. an older sister. Close naman kami kaya walang problema."

"How about Lex Preston? Masungit daw yun eh."

"No. He's not. Actually he's cool but sometimes he's off. May mood swing yun. Mas pa sa babae kung maka-mood swing. Sarap kutusan nga nung pinsan kong yun."

"Alam mo, akala talaga ng lahat na anak siya ng Daddy mo. E kasi may hawig daw tapos nasa puder niya.." si Cassey.

"He's just my Dad's nephew. Nasa kanya si Lex kasi nga maka-tito yung pinsan kong yun. Hay. May pusong babae ata yun eh."

"Pero in fairness.. bongga ang showbiz career niyong dalawa. It's like boom! Shining stars kaagad. Pero di ko maintindihan ang mga tao lalo na 'yang mga bashers mo na sumikat ka lang daw dahil sa tulong ng 'tatay mo' like hello?? Kaitee Steinfeld has really the talents so why wonder? It is so visible! Goodness sake. Mga tao talaga." Bulalas naman ni Sab.

"Pero naging isang malaking issue yun. Halos tumagal iyon ng kalahating taon? Biruin niyo." Cassey stated and took a sip on her frappe.

"Oo nga eh. I don't know to my Dad. Sinabi ko na sa kanya na wag nalang ipubliko kasi magiging issue talaga iyon pero ano? Pinangalandakan pa. Feeling ko nga medyo naapektuhan ang career ni Daddy."

"But at least, he managed to face it all. He must be very proud of having Anna Katriel Steinfeld as his daughter." si Cassey.

"Who would not be? It's Anna Katriel known as Kaitee." Sab smiled at me.

This two girls with me are my close friends here in New York. They are both Filipinos kaya nagka-igihan kaagad kaming tatlo. We've met three years ago. I was still mending that time and I found some allied through them.

Cassandra Louisse or Cassey is at my age. We're both 25 of age and she's still studying. Natapos na niyang kunin ang photography at ngayon naman ay pumasok siya sa modeling. She has the figure so talagang pasok ito. On the other hand, Sabrianna Reyes or what we called her Sab is at Kuya JM's age, 27. She's a writer. May trabaho nga siya rito at may best selling books siya. Kaya nakakapag-taka na babalik siya sa Pilipinas sa susunod na linggo.

"Do you have a plan coming back to New York?" tanong ko kay Sab.

"I can't say that yet.." pinakita naman niya ang kanyang tipid na ngiti.
