Annie laid in bed, curled up next to Calum. She was trying to calm down enough to fall asleep, but she couldn't, not yet.
Honestly, she was terrified. She was terrified of the dream- it was horrible, it made her sick to her stomach just thinking about it. She didn't want to go to sleep and be woken by the dream again- and even more, she didn't want to wake up and find that it wasn't a dream. Maybe she was paranoid, but Annie was afraid she would have the dream and when she woke up, it'd be happening again.
It wasn't a rational fear. But Annie couldn't get it out of her mind! She should be able to sleep, she should be able to calm down, she should be fine.
Calum cuddled closer to her side, adjusting himself in his sleep until his face was closer to hers. Annie found herslef relaxing as she felt his slow, rythmic breath on her face, his fringe falling into his eyes. Dork, she thought affectionately. So Annie cuddled closer to him. Maybe, if she just focused on him, she'd be able to fall asleep.

"And tonight, they'll go to the party to celebrate, before next week taking off with the month of shit. Anything to add?"
Annie blinked, having missed just about everything Johanna had just said. "The month of what?"
"Shit," she repeated happily. "For us, at least. Lots of planning, lots of scheduling, high stress."
"Fun fun fun," Annie said, unenthusiastically. "And... wait, what about the party tonight?"
Johanna nodded, looking at a clipboard. "Yes. Last minute. They were invited, and Michael requested to go. You weren't invited."
"Good," Annie stated, scowling. "I don't like beer."
"I don't like drunks." Johanna agreed. "Lucky me, I'm picking them up." She gave Annie a small smirk. "And lucky you, you get to deal with a drunk Calum."
"Lucky me. Have you seen him drunk before?"
Johanna tapped her chin thoughtfually. "Definitely. He threw up on his shoes."
"Oh joy. I'm sooooo excited."

"Really, I'm not that hungry."
Annie shook her head. "Come on, if you're going to be drinking you need to have food in your system. That way you won't be more of a lightweight than usual."
Calum looked to the side sneakily, not disagreeing with her. "Will you be fine? Do you want to stay at Johanna's?"
"And let you choke on your own puke? No thanks," Annie huffed. "Besides, Johanna will be in a bad mood anyways. It's her job to navigate into the party and get you all out of there."
"We're such a nuccience." Calum agreed, not breaking his smile.
Annie got ready to disagree, but gave up. "You're a nuisance. And I love you for it."
She got up, moving to the other side of the coffee table so she could sit next to him. "Try not to get too shit faced?"
He hummed, leaning in an pressing his lips against hers softly. "But my face is always shit." She punched him on the arm lightly, making him laugh. "Don't worry mom, I'll make good choices. I'm not going to smoke either, by the way. It gets me too paranoid."
Annie hadn't even thought about that. "Oh. Well, good then." She snuggled up to his side. "One more kiss before you go?"
"You know I still have to get ready, right?"
She giggled. "So... a few more kisses before you go?"
"I think I can handle that."
