•THIS IS SO CUTE

•so John and Alex are like 10

•Alex lives with Lafayette and the Washingtons

•and John lives with his family down the street

•John becomes best friends with Lafayette and Alex

•but a little bit more with Alex because Lafayette has Hercules and Angelica

•so it's the summer

•and the Washingtons are having a party

•so that means Alex gets to see John

•they're running around inside and John notices how his parents are holding hands and how the Washingtons are and how Lafayette and Hercules and Angelica are

•(btw Herc Laf and Ang are like 12-13)

•so John goes

•"Alex?"

•"Yeah John?"

•"C-can I hold your hand?"

•because he assumes that people who like each other hold hands

•and he likes Alex so why aren't they holding hands?

•Alex just grins and connects their hands

•Lafayette and Hercules laugh at their hands while Angelica cooes over them

•meanwhile the adults are all more serious

•the Laurens flash them a confused and somewhat disturbed look

•as does almost everyone else

•the Schuyler's also coo over them

•and Martha noticed and nudges George like "Look. I can hear the wedding bells already."

•years later Alex and John are talking and John just goes

•"Remember how I was afraid to hold your hand?"

•Alex laughs "Yeah, and I was stupid enough to hold it. Honestly, why would I want to hold you hand?"

•"You're my husband, Alex."

•"Oh, right."
