•Alex did definitely a cat person

•because you don't have to care for a cat as much as you have to with a dog

•he meets Alex in their one class in college

•skip to a year later and these two have been dating for a few months

•also John knows Alex has a cat and has met said cat multiple times

•IF YOU REMEMBER NCH THEN YOU ARE GREAT

•anyways you guys know neil so i'm not gonna go into detail about him

•Alex decides that he and John should move in together

•so the day that he and John begin moving into their new apartment

•Alex gets dropped off with his stuff by Lafayette

•John steps out of her moving truck

•AND THIS BORDER COLLIE HOPS OUT AFTER HIM

•Alex just stares

•"John... what the fuck."

•"Meet Arfur!"

•"A...Arfur?"

•John blushes

•"Arfur Miller."

•"Wha- oh my god."

•John really liked Arthur Miller and his plays when he was seventeen

•he was a weird and angsty kid

•Alex and John get is many arguments over Arfur

•because HE FUCKING SHEDS JOHN

•and this dog takes up the entire bed 

•John thinks Alex hates Arfur and it makes John sad

•because this dog was one of the only things that helped John during his last year's living with his family

•until one day Alex stays home from class

•John goes

•and when John comes back

•Alex is fast asleep on the couch while reruns of orange is the new black play on the tv

•and Arfur is fast asleep under Alex's arms

•John just grins

•and snaps a picture

•when Alex wakes up and sees it he just smiles sheepishly

•"I guess I like the dog..."
