•and Lafayette is Alex's step brother

•one night

•John and Alex match on tinder

•and meet up

•or rather hookup

•skip to a month later

•Alex is home for thanksgiving

•and Lafayette is coming with his new boyfriend that Alex has never met

•it's thanksgiving dinner

•Alex is helping Martha set the table while George cooks when Lafayette appears

•"Alex, mon frére! This is John, my boyfriend."

•Alex shakes John's hand without looking up

•"Hi, nice to meet y-"

•Alex meets John's eyes

•and he pauses for half a second before continuing

•"you."

•John looks breathless

•"Uh, nice to meet you, too."

•it's SO awkward at dinner between Alex and John

•and afterwards while John is insisting he help Martha clean up

•Lafayette pulls Alex aside

•"What the fuck is wrong with you and John?"

•Alex goes silent

•because he knows he can't lie from Lafayette

•"I... uh... had a one night stand with John, like, a month ago."

•Lafayette groans

•"Goddammit!"

•Lafayette calls Alex three weeks later

•"John's all yours."

•"What?"

•"I broke up with him and gave him your address so..."

•and like clockwork the door rings

•Alex sighs

•"Bye, Laf."

•he hangs up and goes to answer the door

•and shocker!

•it's John

•who cups Alex's face and presses their lips together

•when he pulls away he breathes out

•"I really, fucking, like you."

•Alex smiles

•"Me too."

•John kicks the door closed behind him
