•LAFAYETTE IS TOTALLY C

•and poor John doesn't know what to do

•he knows Alex speaks French

•and John has no idea how to speak French

•but he just wants to try and have a conversation with Alex in French

•so he gets Lafayette to help him

•and this BOY

•tells John fucking love sonnets in French words rather than conversational words

•so John keeps repeating these to Alex

•and Alex is just smiling and nodding and trying not to blush

•because he knows John has no idea what he's saying

•but he really likes John so he just lets it happen

•and finally one day John comes to Alex saying some particularly dirty things

•so Alex cuts him off and says

•"You need to stop taking advice from Lafayette!"

•"W-what?"

•"You've been saying love sonnets to me this whole time."

•"Oh."

•a few moments pass and then John just announces

•"I don't take it back, though."

•Alex grins

•"I don't regret liking them, then."

•John smiles and reaches out for Alex's hand

•aaand that's how their relationship starts
