"How are you?"

I chuckled. "Everyone asked me that same question the moment I arrived here."

Sandro chuckled.

"I'm okay now. It hurt at first, but I got over it. I think this is what we need. At least now I'm more focused on my studies." I said.

"Yeah. But I want to tell you something." He said.

"What is it?"

He grabbed a picture and handed it to me. I looked at it and my eyes widened.

"This is me! Why do you have this? And who are these three boys?" I asked.

Sandro smiled.

"Stop smiling. You're creeping me out." I said.

"That's me, Colton, and Manu."

My world literally stopped.

"What do you mean?!"

"We have been friends since we were little. Honestly, I didn't expect that you would forget us. We never forgot you, Kirby." He said.

"Wait," I stopped him. I chuckled. "You're kidding, right? This is a joke. How could we be childhood friends when Manu lives in Madrid?"

He chuckled. "You really did forget. Anyway, I'll tell you the whole story."

"O-okay."

"You, me, Colton, and Manu were very close friends. I remember we always play on the playground and we always take care of you because you were the only girl in our squad. You were so prone to accidents." He chuckled.

"I still am now." I butt in.

"Anyway, we only see Manu when it's summer since he lives in Madrid. But when it's summer, there's not a day that will pass that we don't play. We were really into playing." He chuckled again. "Anyway, to make the long story short, my mom had an accident."

"What?" I asked.

"Yep. She was hit by a car."

"But I thought your mom died in cancer?"

"She did, but it wasn't really what happened. She had an accident first and then she got ill. And then there were a lot of complications which led her to cancer. She suffered for a long time. It was really complicated for me since I was a kid when it happened. And...and do you know the reason why she was hit by a vehicle?"

I shook my head.

"It was because a girl was almost hit by that vehicle." He said.

My eyes widened.

"And that girl was you, Kirby."

I froze.

"W-what?" I stuttered.

"We were playing that time when you ran towards the highway. My mom was alarmed so she ran towards you. She pushed you away so you would be safe. But my mom...she was hit..." Sandro's hand balled into a fist.

I bit my lip. "I-I'm sorry..." I said.

He sighed and wiped his tears. "It's okay. I forgave you a long time ago."
