It took ages, the process at times was tedious, draining; made us question if it was what we really wanted I guess. Yet, here we are today, I stand in my dress as my chief bridesmaid fastens my dress up and I look at myself in the mirror. Just looking at myself like this seems like a dream, it's finally here, I look like a classic princess in all her finery, but the signature touch is the smile that I can't distain.
Once my dress is finished Y/f/n stands next to me, holding my hand as she begins to tear up at my reflection, we both begin to fuss with excitement knowing how bittersweet this moment is. A wedding day can be something you've always thought about, down to the intricate details and to see it come to life is just astounding, not to mention finding the person to stand waiting to spend the rest of their lives with you a matter of minutes away. "You've never looked more beautiful." She complimented me as I slipped into my shoes and readjusted myself, giving me my bouquet I let out a shaky breath and she gives me one last hug for assurance.
"It all feels too cliche." I begin to ponder over it all, whether this was the right decision, choosing this venue and this dress and all the guests and food choices. What if I wanted the raspberry cake instead? What if everyone hated the chocolate one we adored six months ago?
Y/f/n let out a soft chuckle before placing her hand on my upper arm, "They usually are but when you get out there you've got one person to focus on. Watch his expression as he gets a look of you, trust me I know." I nodded as I pictured him in my mind, thinking back to our first date three years ago.
The date was so nerve racking for the both of us, our picnic was ruined when the geese turned up and the rain began to pour down, but we ran to an arcade and played games for hours. Something about him was different, it was genuine. Who'd of thought that the sweet guy who screamed like a girl at some geese would become my husband today?
A knock on the door signaled it was time as I moved my hair out of my face and went to the door to be greeted by the rest of my bridesmaids and my parents who began to tear up. "No tears. We agreed." My mum muttered to my dad as she dried her eyes and they both came over to me and gave me a hug.
My mum and the bridesmaids began to walk in to the music and I could hear everyone standing, my heart was in my throat and I couldn't stop the shakes as I held onto my dad's arm. "It's finally happened," My dad began as we waited for our cue to follow Y/f/n. "my little girl is getting married to the guy of her dreams." I smiled down to my feet, trying to believe this isn't a dream. "Who'd of thought it would be some singer and not Ryan Gosling." A laugh escaped me as Y/f/n began to walk and I whispered a thank you to my dad as we began to walk through the doors.
All eyes were now on me, I heard gasps and camera flashing but all I could focus on was him, on my future husband, my Luke.
